He has admitted to bringing multiple firearms too the arena, although he claims they were all unloaded. He brought them out to play a joke. He claims he never pointed the guns at anyone. But this according to ESPN
Just wondering what you think is fair?

Sounds a little steep to me without any additional info (like pointing the gun at someone). I would think 50K and suspended 8-12 games.

He brought guns to work. Most people would be fired. He's an ambassador internationally for the NBA. He should be held to a higher standard. Remember the Chris Mills incident a few years ago? These should be dealt with harshly.

Well the difference between most people, and the NBA is that these guys have the NBA by the balls for the most part.

This, if GA is telling the truth about not pulling a gun. If he's lying, I'm thinking 20 games, $250K fine.

I agree with the first part, but if he is proven to be lying and did pull a gun, I think the penalty should be dramatic, like 150 games.

    Let's be honest about this:

David Stern has to send a message to the casual white fans that the NBA is not just a bunch of thug n*ggas running around with guns. This, in my opinion, is even a biggest problem in his eyes than that Ron Artest Detroit incident. That was just a fight... if he thinks (and I'm not saying it's reality, it's his perception of the perception of the average WHITE NBA fan) that fans are going to be turned off from going to NBA games or watching them on TV because they think it's just a league of out of control millionaire black thugs who, if they have a gun in their locker, whose to say they won't bring that gun onto the court?

I think Arenas has played his last basketball game for the NBA for a good long while, maybe ever. And I don't think that's right myself, but I can fully see it happening.

I think the bigger question will be if charges are going to be filed against him. It wasn't that long ago Plaxico Buress was sent to the slammer for shooting himself. If he is sent up town, that will mean suspensions minimum, and possible voiding of contract due to him not being able to provide his end of the bargain.

I was saying that, not as reality, but as a perception by people who get their panties twisted in a bunch far too easily over nothing.
