This guy is like a double edged sword. He has big upsides and big downsides. On one hand he is a great guy to have in the locker room, he is vocal and is always trying to get his team pumped up. He gave a legendary speech at the end of the 3rd quarter in the Celtics 01-02 4th quarter comeback win against the Nets that clearly inspired the entire team in the Eastern Conference finals. He also knows how to get the crowd involved and can be an exciting player to watch. But then there's his downside. He is always described as an all-around player. He can pass, dribble, shoot, rebound, see the court well on the break, but the only problem is he doesn't do any of those really that well. He is also lazy on defense sometimes and his shot selection has always been a problem. And of course lets not forget about his floaters. I can't even count the number of times I've seen this guy dribble in the paint with his head down and throw up an unorthodox shot that falls 3 feet short of the rim. I see him do that on the heat and I cringe everytime I see it :thumbdn1: .Coming off the bench this year for the Heat he was still top 20 in 3 PT attempts. He lead the league two years in a row which is pretty ridiculous when you really think about it, with all of the great outisde shooters there are in the NBA. I was wondering what all of you guys think of Antoine?
I think he's a lazy underachiever, who never played with his head and wasted his talent. He definitely had potential, but he has the worst shot selection I've ever seen and he's just so lazy.
if you don't care about him, then don't comment here.yeah, he definitely has wasted his talent. He has the ability to pass, but it was so frustrating watching him take the right-handed lay up on the left side on a 3-on-1 break, and of course he misses it. I think he was the reason we lost to Indy last year.

antoine walker can be a good player at times but he lacks a consistent outside shot. he was great with paul pierce on the celtics and they were a great duo together. too bad they got split up.
He was good when he played in the post like a PF should, but once he became more dependent on the 3 point shot his game just plummeted.Eliiite, why do you keep spamming in threads? Clearly WELCOMEtotheJUNGLE cares about Antoine or he wouldn't have started the thread, and we do also or we wouldn't have replied. Keep your comments to yourself.
To be honest, I like how Walker plays, but I think he really shouldnt of started off being a PF, cause he has no stats like a PF, but his rebounds at time.
Walker is not athletic enough to play consistent SF and not tough enough to be a PF so he is a 'tweener and there aer +/- on where he plays. At PF he gets overpowered by some of the other power forwards and hurts the interior defense some. As a SF he gets constantly beat off the dribble by quicker players. He's a guy I wouldn't want on my team because he also doesn't play too smart.

The spamming is really annoying.
I loved him when he played for us because of the passion and heart he had, but in 02-03 things started going downhill and I started losing respect for him, and as his game declined I began liking him less and less.

He used to have such a great all around game and played with such passion as you said. I loved his ball handling skills and passing. The only thing I seem to like about him now is that he has changed his role for the better of the team. Walker will always have a little place in my heart because of his long Celtics history. His potential was amazing but all the 3's killed his game.
He is a bit too selfish, takes too many shots and is a poor defender. He still is a nice vet to have around and when you need offense, the guy knows how to score. Im undecided about him.
if he wanted to sign for the veteran minimum on my team, i wouldn't sign him. His stupid and selfish play brings down a team.
You can't argue the following facts:<ul>[*]He chucks up way too many three pointers;[*]He is a below average defender;[*]He has a horrible shot selection;[*]And he can't seem to win.[/list]He is a decent role player, but he can never be better than a third option on a successful team.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He chucks up way too many three pointers; He is a below average defender; He has a horrible shot selection; And he can't seem to win.</div>-Always been horrible at free throws-Bad penetrations-Is making way too much moneyand the list goes on....
my analysis of antoine walker......he can't shoot for crap. he can't hit free throws. he's got descent post moves but he thinks he's a better three point shooter and he clearly isn't. he's not a good rebounder. bad defender. he shoots a terrible percentage (41% for his career) and he's 6'9". also he's a horrible dancer i want to smack him whenever he does that shimmy thing when he FINALLY makes a shot.antoine walker :thumbdn1:
After a full year in Miami, heres my opinion of him. I love him for what he brings. Hes the ultimate team player for Miami. He didnt care what his role was, he just wanted to be part of it.He shot a near career best behind the ark of 36% and 43% overall. Not to bad for his bad rep he gets. The problem I had with him this year was not his shot selection, but his inability to finish at the hoop. A lot of his close shots rimmed out or bounced out. He had a tough time finishing at the rim.
