Jason Quick was on the fan today. He said that the Blazers are talking to "EVERYONE" about making a move. He said (and I thought this was funny) that the team "feels like nobody really wants to help them. Nobody wants to pull a Memphis and give them a Gasol type of player." No kidding? Nobody wants to help the poor Blazers? What a selfish league! He did say that he thought Andre Miller would be moved, but closer to the deadline. Doesn't expect any signifigant move to happen until the deadline approaches.
Quick and everyone else is a dumb ass, Last year everyone was certain a trade would go down, seeing is beliveing
I doubt any team is willing to "help" any other team in the way that Memphis did 2 years ago. That was the perfect storm of situations, and truth be told the Grizzlies made out pretty good. It's doubtful they would've improved their team in the same way they did with the trade. It just seemed bad because it was with the Lakers, AND they went on to go to the finals and win the next years title. I think we're pretty much stuck with the team as we know it. This is my prediction for the next few months. People will continually come up with insane trade ideas that overly favor the Blazers. A few fans will come up with horribly lopsided trades in the other teams favors too. They might be fans of other teams, or someone who is just a tool who comes in to stir shit up. There will be a TON of trade ideas involving Rudy (afterall, Jerryd is proving he's 100 times the player Rudy is and ever will be.....sarcasm). Fans will get super super excited about trade ideas, and then the trade deadline will come and nothing will happen. And everyone will freak out, and we'll have some people come in and claim they "know" we were offered like Chris Paul for Steve Blake and Jerryd Bayless or something, and KP refused. Then we'll probably either barely make the playoffs, or miss it by like 3 or 4 games and we'll all go into group therapy trying to recover...get excited over some good Greg Oden news (followed by trolls coming in saying how Greg will just injured, etc)...then we'll get excited because we were "2 digits away from getting the #1 pick" in the lotto (if we don't make the playoffs) or how we can just trade up for the #2 pick by giving up crap and Paul Allen's money...and fans will complain till they're blue in the face that the team wasn't able to make the trade. Then the draft will happen, and it'll probably be a boring one. Fans will bitch about who we didn't pick or did pick, and overreact. Training camp will start (after what seems like an 8 year long off season) and some player will get hurt, and more trolls will come in and taunt. Greg will be slow to get into game shape, but IF he lasts the season, will be a good 15-12-2 player (but probably miss 15-18 games). and unless we have a year of only minor health issues, the team will probably under-perform and wash out in the 1st or 2nd round the next year, and then fans will be calling for KP's head or if he's still coaching, Nate's head. And meanwhile, in Bedford Falls...
I go back and forth. On one hand, he's given us much needed offense in the recent weeks but he does seem to care more about getting his own shots than he does about getting his teammates shots. If we can get someone like Jamison for him then absolutely. And the Wizards do need a PG with Arenas out.
Ha ha ha ha. Dude that isn't the next few months. That is just what happened today on this message board. And every day on this message board.
I'm torn. He's peeled the rust of this last week and finally lived up to what we thought he could do - get to the basket/FT line, post up, and throw dimes. We haven't seen him do all those things in the same game too often until recently. His perimeter shooting does hurt us at times. I guess I'd say keep him if the other choice is to give him away for scraps. It's hard to say what his value is around the league.
IF Rudy returns 100% healthy, we really need to move *a* guard. Miller wouldn't be my first choice - but I'm not sure who would bring the team the best return.
Hopefully there's some kind of match with the Wizards. Jamison/Aldridge or Aldridge/Haywood. I wonder if you trade for Jamison this year and then next year make him the 6th man off the bench in an Outlaw role. Idk, just desperate.
