    As in basketball players...

What is your most memorable one single play/moment during a game?

Never played in HS or anything but I played recreationally. But as part of a Homestudy trip to Japan sophomore year in HS, we got to take our tour group and play a Japanese High school team in a pretty big stadium (like Chiles Center big)....the stadium was pretty packed. I crossed this one dude over so hard during that game he fell over and my teammates jumped off the bench and heard an "oooohhhhh" from the crowd. Pretty cool shit.

Senior year I played Center one game, at 6'2", going up against a 6'5" Center. I was able to leap very well while this guy ran/moved like Todd Macculloch. We were up 1 and they ISO'd him against me he went up, I timed it perfectly, blocked it but it went right back to him. He gave a pump fake, *block*, he got the board again, this time he went right at my chest with his shoulder, I moved to my left and blocked it again. Three blocks on one possession to save the game.

I had a lot of great scoring games but I always took pride in defense. I had a game winner on a layup against a ranked team but this defense play overshadows any offensive plays I've ever made.

    Defense > Offense

HS gym class, my teammate with the ball in the backcourt, no one anywhere near him, dribbles it from around the foul line straight out of bounds.

I threw my jersey at a refs in college intermurals at the end of the game. Was so fucking pissed at them, surprised they didn't kick me out of the league.

On an Army intrumural team at Ft Hood I hit a shot from 3/4 court at the buzzer to send a game into overtime.

I broke my ankle playing city league ball, but I used to wear my jersey on the bench and supported my team. One game the refs were calling fouls like crazy, plus we were relatively short-handed with only 8 guys. When our fourth guy fouled out with about two minutes left in the game and we're down by single digits (we usually got blown out, we really sucked, lol), I hobbled into the game. I swatted the inbounds pass back out of bounds, then tipped the next inbounds pass to a teammate who grabbed the ball and scored. They went down and scored while I camped out on our end. They kept a guy back to keep me from cherry picking, so I hobble around setting screens. We end up in a sloppy sort of pick-and-pop and I bury a 10-foot jump shot that made Andre Miller's vertical leap look like that of Jerryd Bayless. Another tipped inbounds pass, but they go down and score. This time, I get away with a cherry pick and score. We don't win the game, but we ended up losing by three or four points to one of the better teams in our league.

YBA league. The mean courts of Lake Grove Elementary; a real hard-core grudge match between the light blue shirt team and the purple shirt team, with the kind of gritty play only growing up in LO can create. I strip the ball from the guy I'm guarding and streak toward our hoop. I'm so fast no one tries to chase me down. I go in for the layup...and throw it over the backboard.

    Yeah, I suck at hoops.

HS BBall tryouts my junior year--I'm only 15, but 6'4". The school star (a senior, went on to play some college ball) drove in from the right baseline. He tried to pull up for a 10' J, but I sent it back at him, over his head and out of bounds. All the other players in the bleachers erupted.

Sadly, that's the best I can come up with.
