I get it that it's his job to do damage control, but I really think Pritchard may have missed his calling as a PR wonk. I'm just waiting for him to say "Calm waters." at some point regarding this nonsense.

Just think if KP was reactive like, say, MIXUM, though. :dunno:

I just hope KP doesn't truly believe this and is working the phones as we type.

Tough to find a decent new head coach this time of year, but I wish him success in his efforts.

    That's my take, as well.

If none of this exchange had been heard by Quick, etc., I doubt any of this would have gotten out. This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last, that team arguments take place.

Who knows, maybe it's good they all had a chance to vent, and something good will come from it.

This is now a media circus, though.

Actually from what I have read KP has been pretty active working the phones for a few weeks now. He just isn't finding much help out there.

The Blazers ostracized themselves with that whole "Don't you dare sign Darius Miles" memo they sent out to all of the teams in the league.

    That move's really paying off.

Please. 29 teams in the league wanted to fuck us over before that anyway. Even if we hadn't sent that memo out, we'd still be greeted with crickets. Nobody wants to help anyone else out, period. Why is that such a hard concept to get one's head around?

Ha ha ha ok. Like the whole NBA business isn't based upon trying to fuck everybody else over but your team? The whole hope on most trades is to see how bad you can fist the other side. Hell look at the message boards, all they are loaded with for the most part is lop sided trades. Trades that would screw over who ever we were trading with.

It's a cut throat industry. No if's, ands or buts.

What like they would hate him over LA with the continual bullshit that happens to bring that team talent? Give me a break.

    No doubt.

No one is going to help out Portland without receiving something good in return. KP keeps trying to give other teams guys who are a tiny bit above average and get a top tier guy in return.

That just doesn't happen very often outside of the occassional LA or Boston deal. I am guessing a lot of that has to do with pressure from the players in question. Who wouldn't want to play for the Lakers or Boston? You get on TV all the time. It probably increases the value of your next contract by 15 percent.

No one is dying to come to Portland so no players are pressuring their GM's into a deal.

At the end of the day though, it may just be that Portland can't make a big time deal because they have nothing to deal with.

If we hadn't sent out that memo, there would have been a bidding war for Darius Miles' services.

So, how is Darius' comeback going? I was SURE some team would pick him up again this season due to his new found dedication and love for the game that motivated last year's heroic comback attempt from an injury that had been ruled career ending by more than one independent doctor.

Sure looks like Darius and Chris Wallace had one thing in mind - screwing Portland out of cap space. If Darius was so damn serious about his love for the game, why didn't he even try to make anyone's roster this season?

The Blazers memo may have been heavy handed, but it sure looks like they were right about someone signing Miles, playing him just enough to screw them out of $9 million in cap space and then cutting him loose never to play again in the NBA.
