<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>GRAPEVINE, Texas -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Tuesday he wants the NFL to return to the Los Angeles area -- with two teams. After meeting with a group of NFL owners, Schwarzenegger said he was there to make sure "we're getting not only one NFL team to the Los Angeles area, Southern California, but to actually get two teams. That's why I came. Why limit it?"NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and a committee of 11 owners met to hear proposals from Los Angeles and Anaheim. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle were there to make separate presentations but joined the governor for a joint session."There's enough room and enough audience to have two teams," Schwarzenegger said. "We just have to all work together and make it happen."Los Angeles, the nation's second-largest television market, has been without an NFL team since the Raiders and Rams both left after the 1994 season. When the NFL expanded in 2002, the new team went to Houston after Los Angeles leaders and supporters couldn't reach an agreement with the league.New York Giants chairman Steve Tisch, a longtime Los Angeles resident who is on the committee, said it was unlikely two teams would be added in Southern California at the same time."I'd be shocked if the suggestion internally to recommend two teams ever comes up. I think the numbers are too big. I think it would be an overwhelming suggestion," Tisch said. "Over time, possibly."Tagliabue, who is retiring in July, has long made it a priority to get a franchise back in Los Angeles. The owners' committee, which includes Dan Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys and Bob Kraft of the New England Patriots, planned to hear stadium proposals from the Anaheim and Los Angeles officials. The cost estimates of $800 million are considerably higher than previous price tags.Anaheim's plan calls for a new facility near Angel Stadium, which was converted to a baseball-only complex after the Rams left. The NFL team and the Los Angeles Angels had shared the stadium. The Los Angeles plan is to construct a stadium inside the existing Los Angeles Coliseum, home to the Rams from 1946-79 and the Raiders from 1982-94.The NFL owners' group won't make any decisions on the proposals during their meeting at a Dallas-Fort Worth Airport hotel. Instead, the group will make a presentation at the league's spring meetings in Denver, scheduled May 22-24.After Schwarzenegger and the two mayors emerged from a 10-minute meeting with the owners, the governor chatted in the hallway with Jones, the Cowboys' owner. Tagliabue then pulled the group back into the meeting for about 20 minutes. The governor returned to Los Angeles immediately afterward. The individual presentations by the cities were later in the day</div>Yea its understadable that there is an option for Los Angeles to take on a franchise. But I think asking for 2 teams might be asking for alittle to much. I doubt they would be adding a new franchise, already 32 teams. But then it comes down to what franchise do you move. I would think the Saints, but with all the Katria stuff sorta recently, I would almost feel bad if they move the Saints. But LA sure does have the fan base to carry a franchise
They already have the Oakland Raiders and the Chargers will probably be moved, I hate west coast football. I could see moving the Saints or the Chargers there but 2 teams is ridiculous because the NFL is not going to add more teams.
I'm surprised there aren't currently any LA teams, San Diego might move, but I don't think it's necessary. Weren't they talking about the Atlanta Falcons moving too? I'm not too sure about this movement. I think that the ATL should have a football team, but I've just heard rumors.
IF the Cardinals hadnt just gotten a new stadium I would suggest them, but I'd probably say the Saints, if they dont make profit this year(which they probably wont) they will probably move. I'd also like to see an expansion team, we havent really had any real expansion teams in a while now since the mids 90s(unless you want to count the Texans, but they were a team before the merger, so it doesnt technically count)
The NFL doesn't need more teams, my lord they already have 32 teams and the talent is too spread out as it is.
Expansion doesnt hurt, it only helps, and who cares about talent levels? Teams shouldnt have a HOFer at every position. Also why do you think College Football does so well? I dont think we need that many teams, but as the NFL grows, so should the number of teams, and maybe eventually internationally.
That's ridiculous. You can't have international teams because players don't feel like moving their families to foreign countries not to mention the physical toll from the traveling. No player is going to want to go to an NFL team in some foreign country where he knows nobody. The NFL cannot keep adding teams and it knows it because the game's quality would go down. Their are enough NFL teams in every big market for American fans to follow. Don't fix something that isn't broken.
Yah, I agree that the NFL doesn't need anymore teams right now. 32 is more than enough, and I think LA should only have 1 because there's no need for 2. I've heard rumors about the Chargers coming to LA

I'm not saying it will happen anytime soon, but maybe someday. Again More teams does not take the quality of the game down, why do you think many fans choose college football over the NFL because it focuses more on the the team aspect then how its marketed? We dont need 90 teams, but theres no reason the NFL shouldnt grow gradually.
Their are only so many great NFL type players, you can't keep stretching things out. Let foreign countries start their own football leagues if they want them because international NFL wouldn't work for the reasons I stated. The game has 32 teams in all the big markets of the country, it doesn't need anymore. Don't even compare soccer to american football, soccer is the biggest sport in the world.
I bet New Orleans will move. Can you imagine Reggie Bush in LA? Nice. That would bring a lot of attendance. I doubt he wants to play in NO anyway.
