Sorry but i said it in training camp.... webster is better then batum. He can do everything. Do I think we can improve at SF... 100% YES. But out of teh two... Webster is the guy I want starting. He has been brilliant.

I have yet to see anything that proves Batum ">>>" Webster.

Once again, I'm waiting for the Roy/Web/Batum backcourt to be unveiled at some point soon.

Batum is a way better on the ball defender, Webster would never be able to guard Tony Parker....

    Batum

    161 361 .446 62 168 .369 42 52 .808

Looks like webster isnt really the better shooter either

Roy/Batum/Web will never happen with Blake/Miller/and Rudy getting the minutes and Bayless as well, although, he will be limited when they return. And yeah, how is Batum >>> than Webster? Webster's defense is equally as good as Batum's and is a much better shooter than Batum. Webster is also a rebounding machine.

With the numbers above u cant really say he is a better shooter, He "should" be a better shooter....

Batum is a better defender. Just my opinion i guess

Maybe so, even then Batum is not ">>>" than Webster. Maybe to some he is better, but it isn't by a lot. The numbers may look better for Batum, but the scouts show Webster can shoot when given the open look so his man cannot cheat off of him as much. This happened a lot last year, Batum's man cheated off of him to help double Roy or Oden or whoever and Batum would get the wide open look and he would hit it at times, but usually he wasn't all that great as a shooter. Webster seems to be getting to the rim a little better as well and even though I have no idea if Batum has that in him or not he still hasn't personally shown he can do it yet at the NBA level. We will see.

Webster just drives me crazy. the guy was the 6th pick, this is what is 4th acutal full season? and the fact that we are even comparing him to Batum who was a young young rookie last year is concerning.

I kinda have given up on webs, but i like what he is doing, Batums upside is all star level stuff....

BTW all this means really is that Outlaw should be traded/released/cut/waived or whatever haha

I think the kid drove all of us crazy. One night he will go off and we think he is coming into his own except when the next night comes he just... sucks, to put it nicely. Lately he has been a little more consistent and even though he shot fairly awful he still was a threat on offense and of course, his defense was superb. Batum's potential could be higher than Webster, but Webster could still turn out to be better than Batum whether that is because he just elevates his game even more or Batum doesn't exactly pan out. For a 6th pick he is not what we wanted him to be, but you cannot get everything. I am looking forward to seeing how he does on LeBron in the next game, that may be telling of where he is at.

I don't think it is being biased, you could very much be right. However, after tonights performance you would have to think Webster will be up for the challenge. Obviously LeBron will get his, that is a given. But will he do it on a fairly effiecient night without any problems from Webster and/or Roy or will he have a Kobe night and get his on a terrible shooting night? We shall see. I sure hope Webster can step up again, we will need it!

If Webster and Batum play together I think it'll be at the 3/4 rather than the 2/3.

I agree. Not because the latter wouldn't work, but because Nate would never do it and we have too many guards as is.

Batum is better than Webster. Martell has played very well in the last few games, but he is not quite as good of an on the ball defender as Batum, I don't think he is as good of a passer either.

Webster can shoot, but so can Batum.

What is obvious is that both are a lot better than Travis.

I get the feeling that webster is playing harder because batum is set for a comeback. he does not want to lose his spot. whatever keeps him motivated.

Two young developing sf's that both show lots of promise. Luckily for us we have both of them and in an odd way even more beneficial for them is that one seems to be injured while the other one gets big minutes so far these last two years.

Batum is raw but gifted. Having Webster injured last year was a blessing for him. If that hadn't happened I'm not sure we'd be talking about who is better.

Webster couldn't have stepped into a better situation when Batum and Outlaw both went down. He's learning that he can contribute through rebounding and defense when his shot isn't falling.

Debating who is or will be better is a little premature when we still don't know what the true potential is of either of them.
