One of my friends got a DUI a while back and was placed on parole. She has since violated her parole and is sitting in prison for a little while.

It's strict writing anyone at a prison. I've never done it before. Black/Blue ink only, no letter/envelope. Strictly post cards.

I don't want any cheezy 'keep your head' up messages, any ideas?

Paint her a picture with your words of a happier time or experience you once both shared together. (Preferably something that happened outdoors since she's most likely stuck inside all the time)

"I was walking in downtown Portland the other day when it reminded me of the time we..."

and then maybe you could briefly mention something that would be fun to do together when she gets out.

"I've been dying to see __________ but then I remembered that you liked ________ so I going to hold off and wait for the first sunny day after you're out so we can check it out together"

Basically I'm saying is to remind her of fun times past and to get her to look forward to fun times in the future when she's out.

Tell her you know what she's going through, because you just watched "Reform School Girls".

Just tell her about the good times you're having and when she gets out the two of you should go have a snort- she can drive your new ride.

Come in and take a seat, at long last we get to meet.

I know that you are here for committing a crime, so lets you and me do some time.

I've got some things I'd like to say, I will see you change from day to day.

The thoughts you will have, the things you will feel, I will be here for your every meal.

You will feel some sadness and you will feel alone at night, you will say "I wish that I were home", make the best of the time you've got, and let's hope that it's not a lot.

One day we will part, yes, you and me, that is the day they set you free.

I'm sure you want to know my name, it hasn't changed, it's still the same. We are both together in this man made hell.
