I have to wonder how this will work when Rudy and Blake return?

I mean I guess Rudy can backup martell and roy but bayless needs to play as well. I really dont see any need whatsoever for blake. infact where does blake play? all he can do is hit that three... otherwise hes useless. Kp should be trying to trade blake and outlaw asap for a big. i think blakes days have to be numbered.

You're the kid who always trashes on Bayless? Why do you want him to play all of a sudden?

Edit: With that said, he should play, but likely will not. Batum/Rudy/Blake returning spells doom for Bayless which will make him want to bolt (and who can blame him with his potential he wants to play and earn a nice pay check). If Nate can give him minutes along with the others then great, but someones role has to be significantly reduced, preferrably being Blake.

    I don't see any problem.

Miller will obviously be leaving soon, and we're still about 5 players short.

You think Miller is gone? I think this team plays better with him on the court.

It's Nate's way or the highway. :devilwink:

    Andre refuses to change. :sigh:

See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.

Players should never coach, and coaches should never play. :tsktsk:

Take your $21,000,000.00 and do what you're told.

It may bruise egos in the locker room, but on the court, it should be great. They are all great players and whomever Nate puts on the court should help us win games.

Let's see how simple I can make this so even you can understand it.

First month of the season = shitty chemistry, unhappy campers, role confusion not enough minutes, bad basketball
Second month of the season = lots of injuries, minutes to spare, clearly defined roles, better on court chemistry, good basketball

So let's add 3 wing/guard players back into the current mix -- should be awesome.

I'd say they played better basketball the first month, Miller's rebellion was the source of confusion and that has not changed.

I have no idea what the clearly defined roles are that you speak of.

We're simply getting by on scrappiness right now. Miller's obedience (hopefully, but not likely) and the return of better players can only help.

I'd really love to see a 3 guard rotation of Roy, Rudy and Bayless with Mills riding the pine for garbage minutes. Outlaw and Blake's expiring contracts should be enough to get us a back up 4/5 . Nick Collison could easily be had for that price and he loves the northwest. Miller contract is expiring next year and maybe there will be some interest this offseason.

I agree it is going to be tough. I expect Nate will go back to Blake / Bayless / Roy in the 4th, with Webs and Miller sitting. No question that Blake and Bayless can do the job, but that still is not going to sit well with others - especially Miller.

With Rudy's return, I think Bayless will definitely have to give up minutes.

Just too many guards rights now, and they're all pretty good. Tough decisions indeed.

I've deluded myself into thinking that our non-Roy guards understand what they do and do not bring to the table, and that they'll accept that other players might be better suited to certain situations.

    Spread the floor: Blake, Rudy
    Attack the rim: Miller, Bayless
    Youth and energy: Bayless, Rudy
    Experience and savvy: Miller, Blake
    Aggressive defense: Blake, Bayless
    Run-n-gun: Miller, Rudy

If they can accept their roles, I think our guard rotation can be very formidable. If...

    I'd add Bayless, as well.
