Hamilton fined $15K for foul against ReddMILWAUKEE -- Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Monday for a foul against the Milwaukee Bucks' Michael Redd in the fourth quarter of Saturday's playoff game.Hamilton was called for a flagrant foul penalty one during the game, but the league upgraded it to the more severe level two on Monday.Hamilton and Redd became tangled with 5:48 left in the fourth quarter and the Bucks leading by 20. Hamilton spun around and hit Redd in the mouth with his elbow.Hamilton -- who tapped Redd on the leg at the foul line after the play in an apparent gesture to show that he didn't hit him intentionally -- said the league didn't give him an explanation for the change."Hopefully, I can talk to someone -- $15,000? I don't understand that one. ... I don't think that was fair," Hamilton said.Miami Heat forward James Posey was assessed a flagrant foul two, ejected and suspended one game after knocking down Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich on Thursday.Hamilton won't be suspended for the incident, but severe fouls earn points toward a potential suspension."Rip's not a guy that's going to get a lot of flagrants, so that's not going to affect him," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said.Bucks coach Terry Stotts declined comment.Link
Rip got fined more money than a guy that reached underneath a guy and pulled his... genitals. Rediculous. How does that add up. A hard foul, sure, but not worth that much money.
how do you figure it was a dirty play? At the worst, it was just an unfortunate thing that happened. I highly doubt there was any intention of doing that. IT wasnt like it was pre meditated
This is rediculous Rip shouldn't have to pay more and plus Evans foul wasn't even called during the game.
Man, the flagrant crap is WAY too BS. Rip has 1 now, Dirk has 3, I mean, they should make the suspension for flagrants 6.
there should only be 5 flagrants allowed before suspension. but the foul came at a competitive time in the game, Redd didnt even think it was a call. but Rip should be okay.
