They weren't trying to kill Cobra, just scare them. Every time a vehicle was about to explode, the occupants would jump out and run away, or would parachute to the ground. Completely realistic if you ask me.
Liam Neeson is the only reason why I'd watch this film. Bad or not. On that note, ready for Liam as Zeus in Clash of the Titans remake?
