    With all this talk about which Cornerback is the best in the league, we now know who it is. Charles Woodson was named Defensive Player of the Year with 28 of the possible 50 votes. Revis was second with 14. The last Corner to receive this award was Deion Sanders back in 1994. He played as a cover corner, in the slot, he blitzed, played back at Saftey, and even lined up against big Tight Ends and shut them down. Woodson had nine interceptions and three pick 6. These were career highs for Woodson, as well as tied for first in the league. He had 81 tackles, 61 of them where solo tackles. Woodson won the Defensive Player of the Month in September, November and December. Now everyone can stop saying Revis is better.

    Woodson did make some impact plays this year, but Revis shut down some of the leagues best WR's, and w/o a doubt is the better player. Can someone find stats of how many times they were both were thrown at? It feels like Revis wasn't tested as much due to the respect he gets.

    Press Conference, hes rocking a Michigan shirt. Why didn't Revis get the award then? To me whoever gets the award is better than everyone else. Revis wasnt even close in the voteing. So why do you guys say hes better? Yeah he shut down some of the best WR's in the league but, thats all he did.

    So much for having your own opinion. "Whoever wins the award is better" haha, wow.

    If you look back at the games Green Bay played against the higher caliber QB's this season their defense was atrocious.

    Brett Favre 271 Yards & 3 TDs
    Brett Favre 244 Yards & 4 TDs
    Big Ben 503 Yards & 3 TDs
    Kurt Warner 379 Yards & 5 TDs
    Tony Romo 251 Yards & 1 TD (this was a good showing by the defense)

    You can't base that all off of Woodson. Theres other players on the field that need to cover.

    I never based it all on Woodson. I was just pointing out how bad the DEFENSE was against the better QBs they faced this season.

    Irrelevant post maybe? I dunno. Woodson did well against Romo and Ben though.

    The Packers handled the Cowboys easily. He had good numbers.
    vs Romo:: 9 tackles - 8 solo tackles - 1 assisted tackle - 1.0 sack - 1 Pass Deflection - 1 Interception for 3 yards - 2 Forced Fumbles(One on Romo)

    Woodson also had decent numbers against Ben. But, you might be forgetting Al Harris didn't play against Ben, and Warner. Kinda a big reason why they were able to pick apart the defense.
    vs Ben:: 9 tackles - 5 solo tackles - 4 assisted tackles - 1 Pass Deflection

    Not irrelevant. I think the Packers defense wasn't as good as the stats show and that might apply to Woodson too.

    I noted they did well against Romo.

    Does Al Harris make that much of an impact on defense? Maybe he should be DPOY then.

    Oh, okay got it. Woodson was what made the defense, imo though.

    Harris is a hell of a lot better than Williams. After his injury QBs picked on Williams all the time. Then we had to through alot of other CBs through the lineup to get something to work for each game.

    Revis may be the better Corner back, but Woodson showed a more all round game (sacks, FF, TDs).

    Wow, Revis is even better than I thought. He was thrown at 24 more times than Woodson, yet they both gave up 40 receptions. And Woodson gave up 120 more yards and 4 more TDs.

    Okay, congrats Revis was thrown to more. Seems to me the QB's were to afraid to throw towards Woodson? I'm not taking anything away from Revis, hes good, but hes not the Defensive Player of the Year.

    If Revis won it this year, Asomugha should have won it last year.
