I'm in high school now, and we usually try to do that. It's actually more like several people randomly deciding to scream/yell right when the guy shoots. It is very effective.
i remember a college teams fans all having arrows pointed straight up, and right as the player was releasing the shot they would all point to the side, good stuff.

He's actually very funny! We saw him for the first time about 5 games ago. I love it. He's like our own Cameron Crazy!
I think I will become Hook Shot Dude! I'm not sure what I could do at the games to set myself apart, but it will come to me.
haha.. 3 in the key guy is a good one, too, since you could do it the entire game with the offense and defense.
