Too expensive. If we aren't signing Balotelli, we're not getting him, either.

    True, I would like Balotelli.

If he was going to get regular first team action at Twente, I think this would be a very good idea for the rest of the season.

Any rumblings about Luis Gil from the US-U17? He was rumored a while back, but I haven't heard anything. He was supposedly going to sign with MLS, but the draft was today and he wasn't taken, so that's not happening.

    Seems that way.

We're still being linked with Chamakh but I'm not sure if that is going to happen.

^ I'm sure it won't happen in January. Maybe in the summer.

At this point, as usual, I don't see Wenger making any big moves.

Yeah, still shocked we've made two signings though, heh.

Arsenal eye £12million-rated Spain Under-21 full-back Cesar Azpilicueta

Arsene Wenger's penchant for raiding La Liga for its brightest young talents looks set to continue this month with a swoop for Osasuna right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

The 20-year-old is highly rated among Spain's top clubs but, like Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida before him, is thought to favour a move to Arsenal.

However, a buyout clause of £12million could prove a stumbling block with Wenger only willing to offer half that figure for the Spain Under-21 international.

Azpilicueta made his debut for Osasuna away to Real Madrid in 2007 and has gone on to make over 80 appearances for his hometown club.

The player himself is aware of his growing reputation around Europe.

'I know of rumours linking me with other clubs, but I have yet to speak with anybody,' he said earlier this season. 'At the moment, I can only concentrate on working with Osasuna and progressing my football.'

Azpilicueta fits the Arsenal mould of full-backs having been converted from a midfielder, the same path trodden by Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy.

Arsenal hope their recent bond with Osasuna will stand in them in good stead should a move materialise, especially as Manchester City are also said to have registered their interest.

Current Gunners striker Carlos Vela spent time on loan at the Spanish outfit in 2007.

Arsenal are short of cover in the right-back position with Bacary Sagna the only recognised player for the position now Emmanuel Eboue has been converted to a midfield utility man.

Maybe we're gonna start getting a lot of Spanish players. Switched from the French, eh?
