So I took the time to watch Orlando the last few games. Here is what I noticed:

    1. They have no points being produced in the paint. That is good news for Portland. Providing we can keep Howard off the boards for put backs, his primary offense is not very effective right now, and we should be in good shape.

    2. They are shooting way too many 3's, and they are bad 3's.

    3. Jameer Nelson is lacking explosiveness to get to the rim. He is hitting some shots, but he is clearly not himself.

Now what I noticed on the defensive side of the ball, is probably what is contributing to their bad record more or less as of late:

If you attack from either side of the hoop(Baseline) and force Howard to react, if you cut from the back side, nobody is providing weak side help. Nobody. Opposing teams have been getting easy bucket after easy bucket because nobody is covering the weak side when Howard reacts.

Howard is also playing lazy right now, and is biting on almost all pump fakes. He has been getting in foul trouble a lot.

Half their problem is effort. The other half is nobody can score in the paint.

I hope Portlands assistants picked up on this. If so, it might be an easy win tonight.

Clueless amateur....wth do you know? Are you getting an NBA paycheck? </s>

Seriously? Nice. Though I'd say that if ever there was a game that Stan would yell at his guards to go inside-out, it'd be with us.

I guess my question is, with Vince out, do they have any guards capable since Jameer is on the fritz right now?

I think they are so overrated. Rashard Lewis, their $100m man, is putting up 14/4 (14.5 PER) this season and outside him the roster is 'meh.'

I think part of the problem, is his other half of the dynamic duo he fit well with, is gone.

Barnes had like 28 the other night. The one thing that worries me is that Howard had like 20 rebs even when we had Pryz. I'm just worried what's gonna happen when pendergraph is gonna have to guard him 4 minutes in.

With the foul trouble he has got into lately, that won't be an issue.

Foul trouble sounds like a good way to counter Howard- a starting two of Bayless/Miller might get it done.

Yep. I expect both Juwan and Jeff to foul out of this game. We're going to have to double and front Howard and hope we deny the entry pass.

So, if Brandon doesn't play tonight, how many minutes is Rudy able to play?
