    22 points in the first quarter (7-8 FG, 5-5 3PT, 3-3 FT).

His first (and only) miss came in the last seconds of the quarter, but IMHO he should have been sent to the line.

David Aldridge said that if he stayed one more year he would have been a top-20 pick this summer.

A couple of subtle things that have impressed me are Patty directing teammates on defence, making sure they know where to go; and every time one of his teammates hits the floor, Patty is the first guy to run up (yes run, not walk), give them a hand up, and a bit of encouragement.

Patty just stole the ball from the Reno defensive rebounder for the second time tonight.

    Patty's a gunner.

Dude has a decent stroke, but he's been shooting way too much instead of involving his teammates tonight.

Mills is drawing a lot of contact (and throwing up the ball because of this) but not getting any calls.

To be fair to the refs, they are being consistent. There has been a lot of contact on all player, but not many calls made.

    Yes, and no.

Patty shot a lot in the first quarter, but after that's he's been constantly doubled.

Consequently he has passed a lot since; it's not his fault his teammates can't hit an open shot.

So I take it you haven't been watching his "defence"?

Last time I went to see a Stampede game was to check out Josh McRoberts. I remember at that time thinking there seemed to be at least three other guys out there as good as him.

I just got back from the game and believe me, Patty Mills is no McRoberts-level talent. That guy can flat out ball. 15 seconds into the game he'd pulled off a nifty drive and dish and then stole a rebound for an easy layup. In the second half they seemed to double him whenever he touched the ball.

I stopped watching the game closely at about halftime (kids got me distracted). But I think Damon Stoudamire is an excellent comparison to him. Undersized perimeter-oriented point guard who probably overdribbles, but can also score in bunches. I loathed Damon Stoudamire, but if we'd drafted Damon in the second round and already had Miller, Bayless, Roy and Fernandez he'd be a really nice player.

I might buy a ticket to another game just to watch Mills play (leaving the kids behind). He's just a fun player to watch tear up D-league competition.

The funny thing is that during warmups he was missing everything. There was only one player out there for the Stampede under 6'1, but I kept wondering to myself if I was really watching the right player. You could tell in warmups he had some really nice moves, but everything bricked.

Is the 3 point in the NBDL the same as the NBA or college?

For those who have Versus on their televisions, they're showing the Idaho game on Tuesday night. I know I'll be tuning in.
