<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rondo Slipping? With UCLA PG Jordan Farmar entering the draft and with other underclassmen entering, Rondo is a player who's stock has taken a hit according to scouts. Obviously it's very early and team workouts have yet to begin, so he'll have plenty of time to move back into the mid first/late lottery picture. But Rondo's lack of outside shooting and overall feel for the point guard position has a number of scouts projecting him later in the first round and claiming he's likely to slip, some have even mentioned into the second round. Scouts attribute the lack of playing time and the fact that he didn't start later in the year to a personality clash with Tubby Smith and the UK coaching staff, which has created some skepticism about Rondo's character. He likely wont receive glowing reviews from the coaches at Kentucky, but he's not considered a lost cause disruptive type, along the lines of a John Gilchrest.Rondo has a lot of heart and makes quick decisions, which are both great attributes for a PG. He's obviously got some enormous holes to his game, and is a potential based pick, but his upside is very intriguing, especially for a team willing to take a player with the future in mind. With his quickness and athletic ability, he's a jumpshot away from being a dynamic player.</div>http://nbadraft.net/draftbuzz055.asp How can you be slipping when you have not played a game in months?

I never thought very highly of his game. Yes, he's quick, he's a good defender, but there's nothing special there. He is a more talented Orien Greene.

surprise surprise. i knew he wasn't that good. he's an average player that's it. i don't know why BCB busts a load over this guy like he's the best pg in the draft.

Are you kidding me? He was only a sophomore and was dominating at the beginning of the year and averaging over 10 rpg, have you ever seen this kid play? He's amazing and if he were playing somewhere where he had more freedom unlike Kentucky he would get noticed more. He's a stud.

Rondo plays in a conservative offense where he doesn't have free reign like Marcus Williams, mind you Rondo was only a Sophomore this year.

    Re: Rondo, 'slipping'

Williams is only in his junior year. Williams is a FAR better playmaker, more of a true pg. Rondo is a good defender, but his offensive woes are the reason he is slipping. He doesn't have an outside shot at all. That normally doesn't spell out success in this league, especially in the early years.

You can always learn how to shoot, T.J. Ford couldn't shoot either.

I think TJ is an exception. He has incredible quickness, already one of the fastest players in the league.

Rondo is quick as hell as well and maybe a better overall athlete.

rondo will only be a role player. a role kind of like royal ivey. i don't care if he's a sophomore or not he's not as good as you hype him out to be.

    Re: Rondo, 'slipping'

I think Rondo will be a solid point gaurd in the league, but i like Williams over him. Williams is a better playmaker and i think he's just overall better. Rondo is still the 2nd best point gaurd going into the draft. There isnt much depth at point gaurd like there was last year.

yeah, he'll most definitely be better than Royal Ivey. similar game, but Rondo is far more skilled.

Ivey is a solid backup....FOR THE ATLANTA HAWKSRondo is like TJ Ford, and hes doing fine in the NBA. Ford will end up having a better career the alot of people in this draft? Williams is a playmaker because he gets to go up and down the court, throw ally-oops to the ultimate highflyer in college basketball. Rondo's season sucked. It flat out sucked overal. He had a good season. He tried out a new techinique in his shot, he still averaged 11 ppg. About the same as Marcus Williams. As he enters the NBA, Rondo, will be one of the quickest players out there. If you give him a few years to get used to his shot and improve it, he will become an offensive presence. Hes got all the tools to be a great player. He just needs improvement on the shot, and he'll be good. Rondo grabbed 19 rebounds in a game this year. Thats amazing for a PG of his size and body mass. He'll be an awsome player in the league if he's put in the right position and if he works on his shot. Because the kid has all the tools in the world.
