good to see that your laker bias hasnt skewed your analysis. as for perkins- i was going to go with perkins initially but i decided against it because he's a great help defender but his man to man defense on quick bigs like bosh is terrible. he's almost as slow footed laterally as brad miller or shaq.

kobe isnt actually a bad pick considering your injuries woes but your schedule as been soft so far- so i was hesitant to go with kobe. another guy who should get consideration for mvp but he wont because of his reputation his zach randolp. the grizz might have the greatest loss-to-win turnaround in the league by years end and randolph is really the only substantive change from last years grizzlies squad.

jennings as rookie of the year is ridiculous. he started the season hot and had a good first month. since then he's been absolutely terrible. tyreke evans is rookie of the year so far and it's not even close.

Perkins is a center, of course he's going to have trouble guarding people who play different positions. That would be like saying "I was going to pick Wade, but his man to man defense on taller, stronger guys like Tim Duncan is terrible" Have you ever seen Perkins guard Dwight Howard? He dominates him, along with anybody else that plays center. Anybody that thinks Perkins is only good at help defense doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

Right now, ROY is Evans, very easy.

    I'll do the rest later

Wow, Evans has been a beast. I didn't realize he has been that good.

homerism needs to be taken out of the equation, i understand u appreciate your guys but there are other teams with more deserving players. and if u read my reply to shape- i clearly state that i deliberated over the dpoy award and perk was a serious contender. however, have u ever seen camby or ben wallace in his prime play? both could be all over the court as help defenders and play incredible man to man defense on most players in the league, guards included at the same time. in fact, ben wallace and camby both had the ability to play a lumbering centre (shaq) as well as a quick 4 (e.g. dirk, bosh) straight up. and unfortunately- the modern nba is littered with athletic, versatile athletic big men who create huge matchup problems for guys like perk, oden, etc. thats the reason why he's so foul prone- he simply cannot keep his man in front of him.

first, its a mid season award so we're not taking into account how things might look at the 82 game mark. nevertheless, arenas coming back from effectively missing the last 2 years and averaging upwards of 20 ppg is incredible. i understand he wont get it because of his suspension but the dude does deserve recognition for his extraordinary feat.

presti drafted harden (jury is out); traded for maynor and gave up nothing in the process; retained cap room for the 2010 coveted free agent frenzy and has drafted well the last few years. he has also accumulated some other nice prospects for next to nothing- e.g. sefolosha, dj white, ibaka.

fuck stats. jennings plays with nobody and the bucks have a better record. and he did propel the bucks to one of the hottest starts in the league all by himself plus the 55 hasnt been done in a generation.

Playing with nobody allows him to chuck more though. And West this year is much better than the East, so the fact that the records are close probably favors Evans

danny ainge? he committed a long term contract to a geriatric sheed who came into camp in the worst shape in his life. and daniels came into town for one thing and that was to improve his stock so he could get a better contract the next time around. where are his shrewd moves? and the sheed signing didnt make a lot of economic sense either because they were bidding against themselves after the spurs and lakers committed their entile mle to mcdyess and artest respectively.

evans chucks just like jennings, lets not get it twisted. aside from a pure basketball discussion- jennings is in my opinion the most exciting player in the league since a young vince carter and iverson came into the league. his style is pure fun and totally engaging for the spectator. ever seen that commercial for him on raps tv?

MVP: Kobe Bryant - best record + many injuries on team (as well as himself).

6th Man: Carl Landry - beast

DPOY: Kendrick Perkins - i've watched only 10 celtic games this year tbh, but i'll trust thrilla and shape on this one

COY: Mike D'Antoni - how he's gotten 17 wins out of that shitty knicks team is beyond me.

Executive of the Year: Sam Presti or Ernie Grunfeld (only if Arena's contract is void)

MIP: Marc Gasol - lost weight, developed a nice 10-13 footer, and is decent on D

ROY: Tyreke Evans - he's A LOT stronger than most SGs in the league and he's really long. He's been like a mini Lebron this year.
