I hate trash talking. I think the best way to discourage an opponent is to annihilate them without even acknowedging their presence.
I don't. I'm old school (VERY old school). No need to run your mouth. Look at the scoreboard. It tells you everything you need to know. BNM
I don't have an opinion either way. I don't see the need for trash talking, but obviously some players are negatively affected by it, so i don't blame guys for doing it.
Has the opposite effect on me. Motivates me to play even harder and shut them up. Most punks don't have a lot to say when they're getting worked by a guy twice their age. BNM
When I was in college, we played at Columbia, and one of their offensive lineman was a huge trash talker. He made a nice counter block on one of our defensive ends and stood over him and taunted him. Our guy just got up, put his arm around the lineman's shoulder and pointed toward the scoreboard. They were losing 38-0 at that point in the game. He then trotted off the field as we had just stopped them on 3rd down.
The only thing dumber than giving your opponent added motivation is doing it to an opponent who is already kicking your ass. I always let the scoreboard do my talking. If the scoreboard says I'm losing, all the more reason to keep my mouth shut. BNM
