wouldn't regulation be the first step to a single payer system? your argument is very gray. IMO the first step to single payer system, is a single payer system.

Forcing insurance companies to cover everyone while allowing a massive loophole in the form of a cheap penalty. Forcing people to take a public option if they changed their insurance or didn't choose the right kind of insurance. The intent was to make private insurance so expensive (look up "moral hazard") that the insurance companies would go out of business, leaving such a mess only the government could come in and "save" it. And, voila, you have single-payer through the back door.

The failure of the Senate and House to provide any real reform that will change the absurd cost of healthcare in America is bad news now, good news later.

This will be the #1 issue until we have universal healthcare in America. It's not going to go away, because disease and death and pain and anguish are daily reminders that some very despicable people are getting filthy rich off the suffering of good people.

Whether Obama get's another term or not, Hillary Clinton is 100% guaranteed to be his successor.

Republicans have pissed away any chance they had for the office in this decade over an issue they are destined to lose anyway, eventually.

Funny thing is, they (the insurance companies) refuse to allow anyone to do that unless they are certified 100% healthy.

That's one of the things we're trying to reform.

Maybe you should actually learn what it's all about, then post.

Okay. Where do you think it stops? Please provide your reasoning. You should also ask yourself the question why the Democrats were so anxious to get anything passed, it didn't matter what was in the bill.

Needless to say, you're wrong- and know it. Honestly, for a reasonably intelligent person, you sure do post things you know to be untrue.

Health carriers take a large percentage of new insureds with pre existing conditions, My daughter got good health care with an illness that costs the new carrier $2,000,000 in 2 years.

they knew it would cost them 2 million and insured her anyways? unbelievable, unless of course the government is helping them pay for it.

Does that mean it's wrong? Do you believe there should be a board of "experts" that decide what courses of treatment you can receive?

They already exist, it's called your Insurance Company.

Unless you are rich, in which case the rules are different. As is with most other things in life.

If your insurance company denies you coverage, you can do several things:

    1. Have your doctor appeal.

    2. Seek a second opinion.

    3. Pay for it yourself.

    4. Find another insurance company.

What do you do when there's only a single-payer and a board of "health care specialists" (not necessarily physicians) decide the best course of treatment? At that point, you don't even have the option of paying for it yourself.

And giving me the "I'm broke" line is bullshit. Hospitals and health care providers work out payment programs all the time with patients who receive care they can't pay for immediately. Most of the time they receive a discount or get their care for free. Health care isn't free. Having the government involved would just make it more expensive, less responsive and less effective.
