If they go 2-2 I'd be way pleased.

In a way, Roy has let the team down with his stubbornness and lack of communication with the training staff about the extent of his injury. I understand he's a competitor and I love that about him, but an athlele at his level has to learn when to listen to their bodies and do what's right for the team and his long-term health. If it costs the team a game or two, I'm sure that's a fair trade-off, and the way everyone on the team is stepping up and bringing the effort every night, him sitting isn't a guaranteed loss, especially against teams like Detroit.

Yea I love the fact that Roy wants to play and help this team win but in all honesty we aren't going to win a ring this year so I don't understand why he would risk further injury just to come back against the 76ers...? I'm sure he didn't think he'd get hurt and he just wanted to play but our medical staff needs to make him sit for a while before he comes back again. At least 10 days. I think we can win some games without him.

Didn't Roy just say a couple days ago that he expected it to be a 4-game injury, same as last year?

    Agreed.

Roy is a disappointment in a lot of ways.

No way. Have you ever had a strained hamstring? It's tricky as hell. You rest for a few days and feel like it's fine, then it tweaks on you out of nowhere. It's really hard to know when you are really over it. Brandon isn't being stubborn - I'm sure he felt ready to play today and was as bummed out as the rest of us when it came back and (literally) bit him in the ass. I got bad news for you guys - this could continue all year. I've pulled a hammy several times, and have played with guys who did as well. They are just a pain in the ass - and they can take months to heal 100%. So, how long do you sit him out if he feels okay? There's no guarantee (by any means) that in a week or even two that he'll be over this.

What a catch-22 for Brandon. Let's say he had played this real cautious and decided to sit out the whole road trip and the team goes 0-4. Guys like Canzano would be all over that. They'd question why he needed to sit out if it's just a strain (and not a tear) And that a true leader plays though pain like Kobe (bad back, broken finger) Poor guy - you can't win for trying sometimes.

Since this is from Quick, that means Roy's probably starting in Boston.

That's what I'm afraid of. A bad hammy is like a psycho ex girlfriend - they just don't go away. And just when you think she's gone and it's safe to come out and play . . . SNAP.
