Ric Bucher was on the radio yesterday and reported the Lakers are trying to pry Devin Harris away from the Nets.

Likely players the Lakers would be sending in return are Farmar & Morrison (expiring K)

I'd imagine the Lakers would have to include a draft pick and maybe cash?

It's Ric Bucher so don't get too excited about the possibility.

I also saw that the Nets would be very hesitant to trade Harris until May...

May being the month when the Draft lottery is done, hench when they know if they get John Wall or not

That would make the most sense for their franchise. They have a lot of money to spend next summer already, I'm not sure another $8.4M would make a significant difference.

I hope they get John Wall so we could make a run at Harris, If the Lakers get him, then FML

They can feel free to send him our way, certainly solves our PG issue.

Why in the world would the Nets give up one of their best players for that? Good young PGs are hard to come by.

IF by some miracle we do get Devin Harris, then I will drive myself to Staples to keep Kobe out of some games to rest himself.

Cap relief? The reason why a lot of teams are willing to give up good talent.

Maybe they're banking on landing John Wall or one of the other talented PGs in this year's draft? In the meantime Farmar would be a stop gap PG for them and they'd have additional cap relief for next year's blockbuster summer.

When the Lakers acquired Gasol a lot of teams wanted him, but when it came time to actually take the cap hit of dealing for him teams backed off and the Lakers swooped in.
