    Last time GSP fought BJ Penn the UFC introduced their new short series, UFC Primetime, which closely resembles (translation: flat out copies) ESPN's 24/7. The show follows the competing fighters through their daily routines and training camps in preparation for the big fight and is spread out over three weekly episodes. The last version was extremely well produced and did a tremendous job building up hype behind the fight--and probably had something to do with the huge buy-rate the ensuing PPV captured. The show featured the infamous rant from BJ Penn in which he promised to fight St. Pierre "to the death."

    Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre is set to face #1 contender Dan Hardy at The Prudential Center in Newark on March 27th. The co-main event for the card will be for the UFC interim heavyweight championship and features former champion Frank Mir facing top contender Shane Carwin. Also on the card is a welterweight eliminator with Thiago Alves and John Fitch, a welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Ben Saunders, and a lightweight contest between Mark Bocek and Jim Miller.

    The first episode of St. Pierre vs. Hardy will air March 10th (SpikeTV, 10:00PM EST) with subsequent episodes on the 17th and 24th.

    Odds-makers have GSP as a six-to-one favourite at this point in time. The show should be more interesting than the fight.


    It is a good contrast. The big-mouthed Brit from the small international camp versus the polite French champion from (arguably) the most famous fight camp in North America. Maybe not as much of a contrast as sunny Hilo and snowy Montreal, but that didn't really work out for Penn, so...

    Yeah.

    There isn't much more story to tell with regards to GSP. Between Countdown, All Access, and Primetime, they've pretty much covered it.

    Machida/Shogun would've been the obvious choice but with both guys having limited English and both being Brazilian I guess maybe the UFC thought it wouldn't work. Silva vs. Belfort is kind of in the same boat.

    They might've done Lesnar vs. Carwin if things hadn't gone the way they have.

    I don't think they'll reward Page with his own show after he ditched... they might've done it otherwise.

    Yeah, it would probably be better than GSP/Hardy.

    But they did have a whole season of TUF to build the fight up, too.

    They should have a show with all the douche bags from the TUF series. Junie Brown, War Machine etc. That would entertaining.

    Dan Hardy is made for UFC Primetime. Should be interesting to see what he has to say leading up to the fight. Dude is never shy on voicing his opinion!

    I liked the opening shot where the camera ran up on Hardy with The Sex Pistols in the background (kind of an obvious music choice but...).

    Aside from that this edition of Primetime is probably going to be a little boring compared to the last, especially because we already know all about GSP.
