Rice was a damn good player, but he wasn't as athletic as Martell. Martell is no where near the over all offensive player Rice was in his prime. Maybe Dan Majerle is a better choice. Super athletic 3 point threat who played good to excellent defense. Sounds like the player Martell is trying to become. I would take a Majerle on this team in a heart beat.

Dale Ellis with D? I would take that all day long. Webster has a ways to go before he's at Ellis's level on offense, though. Martel is already better than Dale on D. Martel die spot up much like Ellis, and shoots the three pointer at about the same clip as Ellis did the year before Whitsitt brought him to Seattle (for Al Wood). Once in Seattle Ellis became perhaps the best 3 point specialist ever. I'd love to see Martel become an Ellis clone. Go Blazers
Really? Wow, I never thought EVERYONE would care so strongly who I have on my ignore list. I guess I just don't get what the big deal is that prompted all his chest thumping and profanity. I nicely (I even said Please) asked the OP not to call Martell, "Tell". He refused and told me to deal with it. I dealt with it in the manner of my choosing by putting him on ignore. Last I checked, I still had that right. As far as I'm concerned the issue was resolved at that point. He can call Martell "Tell" and I can ignore him. End of story. BNM

No one is debating whether or not you have the right, they are simply pointing out that putting someone on ignore because they called Martell Webster "Tell" is something a bitch on her period would do.

I didn't put anyone on ignore for calling Martell "Tell" (even though I think it's quite possibly the stupidest nickname I have ever heard). I only put him on ignore after I politely asked him not to do so and he told me to "deal with it". My way of dealing with people I find annoying is to ignore them. Other people choose to bitch and moan about posters they find annoying - while they continue to read their threads and respond to them - all while complaining about how stupid and annoying they are. If ignoring someone I find annoying makes me a "bitch on her period", what's that make all the people constantly bitching about certain other posters? Wouldn't it make the forum a better place if they simply ignored those posters rather than constantly encouraging their behavior by giving them the attention they so desperately crave? BNM

Firstly, I apologize for my last remark that was kind of a personal attack. Secondly, I don't really get your reasoning. He called him "Tell", you asked him not to, he denied your request, so you ignored him. That really seems to me that you are in fact ignoring because he refused to stop saying "Tell". In other words, you ignored him because he says "Tell". Right?
No problem. It happens. Nope, I ignored him for his "deal with it" response. I asked him nicely. I wasn't disrespectful about it. I didn't even say I thought it was the dumbest nickname I've ever heard (it is, but I didn't say it at the time). He told me to deal with it and I did. I didn't intend for it to become a huge deal with personal attacks, profanity laced posts and insults. I have other posters who annoy me on ignore and nobody seems to care. I personally find it makes the forum more readable and more enjoyable. I'm not sure why that makes me a bad guy, but I guess it does. Oh well. BNM
