So they're saying he's way overpaid and he's not worth much in trade.

What's Hinrich's value? He's a huge upgrade over Fisher, but his contract is very ugly. It seems like he isn't well liked amongst Bulls fans either.

Do you like him? I've never been a huge fan of his game (contract also very ugly), but either way he'd be a huge upgrade over Fish. Hopefully the proposed trade goes down, but I don't know if it's a favorable deal for the Bulls. It'll give you guys cap room to go after a max free agent this offseason, that's about it.

He'd be ideal next to Kobe and the replacement for the perimeter defender they lost in Ariza. The bulls wouldn't be getting anything back for a key guy in their rotation right now. But if it means they are certain to sign a big free agent, I'd do it.

I agree. We'd have $10M+ tied up in Salmons and Vujavic to go along with any free agent we'd sign. Impressive? NOT!

Now on insider theres an article about Kirk and Tyrus for Amare. Which would be helpful, but Amare doesnt have the defensive presence that I would like to put next to Noah

Would anyone take a chance on an oft-injured defensive presence like Greg Oden? He looks like a big time game-changer when he's healthy. Lets just hope his nude pictures don't show up on the screen.

Would you do it for all expirings? I would unless I could ditch Salmons first.

I think it'd be my last choice of things to do. I've come to the conclusion that there's no way to figure out what's gonna happen and what the Bulls want to do is really dependent on a whole lot of contingencies.

I think ideally the Bulls would like to trade for Bosh while keeping enough cap space open to make a run at Wade or Bosh.

A backup option would be something like that Amare for Tyrus + Kirk deal mentioned here. But they like Bosh a lot better than they like Amare, so they aren't going to pull the trigger on that without knowing they can't get Bosh.

And of course, neither the Suns nor the Raptors are gonna pull the trigger until they're sure they want to trade and the Bulls have the best offer on the table. Which explains why everyone is sitting on their hands until closer to the deadline.

From that point, if the Bulls really want to get a guy like that and still have cap space, they need to have a second deal in place to offload someone for expirings. They probably need that sort of deal in any case, since the reality is that if Salmons doesn't opt out, they'll be totally hosed and have no space at all.

I'd put the odds of everything falling into place the way they want/need to be pretty small.

I think everybody likes Bosh over Amare. And if Amare wants a max deal next year, I wouldn't trade Hinrich and Tyrus for him. I'd let him end up in NY or Detroit where he'll be an even bigger asset for the bulls.

I think the idea of that trade is to dump Kirk's salary for Allen's expiring one.

It's $21M out, $18M in, we gain about $8M in cap space.

I wonder if Allen would be content to play out the string here, or whether he'd demand a buyout to go back to the Celtics.

If he played hard for us, we probably still make the playoffs, and I think the Bulls would gladly make that deal.

If not, we might fall pretty quick. So it'd be a gamble.

I think the Bulls would obviously want him to play.

    Trade deadline in 11 days?
