You seem to ignore the facts. Aldridge's defensive rebound% is 19.8 (easily a career high). Randolph's is 21.7 (3rd best in his career). So, actually he's a better defensive rebounder than Lamarcus Aldridge, who doesn't bother to rebound on either end of the court.

And his alleged 'bad defense' is probably the most overhyped non-thing in the league. He's certainly not great, or even good...but his defensive rating is just a hair below Aldridge's defensive rating. And not that blocks is a sign of overall defensive ability, but how on EARTH can it be that Zach and Lamarcus are averaging the SAME number of blocks per game this season? Both have 20 blocks in 44 games. That's just so ridiculously hard to believe. Zach is 2 inches shorter and can't jump over a phone book. I'd say that both are roughly average defensively.

I've always liked Zach as a player. He gets more out of less physical ability than probably anyone in the league. Clearly he's worked hard to get where he's at. I wish Aldridge would work that hard, he might be an all star too.

Many thought the 48mil contract Miles signed was bad,

the 65mil that LMA just signed could be just as bad

if he stays healthy not a chance. doesn't mean he won't be considered overpaid, but miles was an epic fail.

    I agree 100%.

What kind of selfish dick would sit out games for his team, and then miraculously be able to play in the all-star game? It would be a slap in the face to the fans and his team-mates.

Assuming that Brandon's still having problems with the hamstring by then, I'm sure both he and the team would agree with this sentiment. On the other hand, if he's recovered and is back playing for a few games before the All Star Game, it would be a slap in the face of the fans that support him and the coaches that choose him for him to pass on the game.

Why the heck do some of you always seem to be ready to jump all over the Blazers and their players for perceived offenses that haven't even happened yet?

Isn't there a rule about how players can't skip the game if they're healthy enough to play?

Yeah, no shit... much better suited to the AS game, too. Well, every year there's one head scratcher each from the fans and the coaches. Could come down to lots of votes being split, with some coaches voting with strict positions in mind, they also can't vote for their own players, so that puts the unanimously deserving players at a disadvantage (-1 vote).

we should have just kept him AND miles, they would both be huge expirings next year, not to mention zbo would be a welcome addition in the frontcourt right now.

We do? Did you see our defense last night? We certainly DO NOT have players who can make up for his shoddy defense. Perhaps if your centers were healthy, but not now.

    Yes.

I think that Aldridge continues to have a larger upside, and I'm not sure I blame him for not working hard... but Zach has a nasty streak and a willingness to outwork most of his competitors.

Trading Zach for what we got was a mistake. Many of us felt so at the time and I haven't changed my mind on that as Portland has struggled with injuries to big guys ever since.

Instead of bitching about Zach, why don't we focus on the topic at hand.

Don't miss Randolph one iota. He's been given away for free 3 times in 2 years for a reason.

Yes. The reason is that the Knicks and Clippers are bad teams that make bad decisions. The Grizzlies, led by Zach, though, are 24-11 since waiving Iverson. Meanwhile, the Blazers could desperately use a player like Zach.

With Randolph being one of those bad decisions.

The Blazers could use a healthy roster. With everyone healthy, Randolph wouldn't be needed at all, just like last year. He'd get in the way and take too many bad shots. That's been him his whole career.

Sorry, don't miss him one bit, and neither do the other teams that traded him.
