Looking ahead to tomorrow and the month of February the picture is a little bleak Sat, Jan 30 @ Dallas FEBRUARY Mon, Feb 1 Charlotte Wed, Feb 3 @ Utah Thu, Feb 4 San Antonio Sat, Feb 6 LA Lakers Tue, Feb 9 Oklahoma City Wed, Feb 10 @ Phoenix Tue, Feb 16 LA Clippers Fri, Feb 19 Boston Sun, Feb 21 Utah Tue, Feb 23 @ New Jersey Wed, Feb 24 @ Toronto Fri, Feb 26 @ Chicago Sat, Feb 27 @ Minnesota I have a hard time believing we go 'O-fer' on the month, but yikes ... this could be painful.
Geez Nic, I know they're struggling but they oughta be able to eek out wins against New Jers. and Minny! It's all about B-Roy though. It's painfully obvious watching these games (going back to the game at Washington) that no matter how hard we battle and how close these games are - we just don't have a closer down the stretch. The loss at Washington, the loss at Boston (then BARELY hung on at Detroit - thank you Charlie V. and Rodney for missing open 3's) the 8 point lead debacle against the Hornets, and the game tonight. All winnable games. You're not going to win all the close ones, but with Brandon we've won a lot more of them than we've lost. Throw the Utah game out - we just came out flat, but these other games . . . we've left a few wins out there.
I didn't say they'd lose to Minny and New Jersey, I was just saying it could get pretty rough here in the next 3 weeks. Oh well, hopefully they are able to pull a rabbit out of their hats a couple of times and stay afloat.
Either Charlotte or San Antonio. If Charlotte isn't where we end it, I still think we can beat San Antonio. Heck, we did so at there own place when they were fully healthy at the time (well they at least had Parker, Duncan, Ginobli, and Jefferson) and we were missing Roy, Pryzbilla, and Oden for that game, so I think we can beat them especially with it being at our place.
It's a bit early to panic - we're in every game (even after being down 26 in the first to Utah we were in that game) and Roy is not going to be out forever. Lots of winnable games on the horizon, just like tonight's. We need to step it up late, but I have faith.
probably not gonna help that a few guys think they could be traded in 2 weeks. might be one reason for miller's crappy effort recently.
Ouch. At best, they might go 5-9 over that stretch, and it could be worse. The losing streak could hit 10 or 11. (in other words, lose another 6 or 7 in a row)
Meh, the season really isn't about the record any longer. What matters is how we continue to fight. We're too undersized to compete with most teams underneath and without Roy we've lost our closer. Someone will either step up and take his role until he comes back or we'll continue to struggle.
I think the only game we win before the all star break is the Charlotte game. I may throw in the Lakers game because we always give it everything for that game.
Yea brutal is right, worst timeing of the year for BRoy to go down. We do get Boston and LA with them coming off of a back to back..... so thats something at least.
