Just walked in the door! All the guys were pumped on the plane. Watched a little ENTOURAGE and SPORTSCENTER! Haven't read any threads on here yet, but I'm proud of my team! These guys have such heart! Would love to here any complaints about this win!
complaints; miller did not set the record for the highest scoring blazer ever. I picked the mavs to win in the prediction game. great win. great effort by miller. I am happy for him. hopefully people will lay off him for a while now.
Miller didn't get enough assists. This game proves he's a selfish, shoot first ball hog and not a true point guard. Also, now that we know Miller can score 50+, not only can we conclude he's a lazy bum for not doing it more often, but any game he scores less than 25 means he's being a passive aggressive jerk. Why did we sign Miller, anyway? Oh yeah, he also had two turnovers.
I wonder if this is THE BEST GAME EVER by a player who CAN'T shoot! The guy flat out can't shoot the rock and still laid down 52 on those guys! Amazing.
No doubt. I missed the game (shit shit shit) but the first thing I thought was how did Andre hit enough threes to go for 52 since it seemed inconceivable that he could do it without making a bunch of threes. Well...I guess he did! That's impressive. I was at the Beaver game where Gary Payton scored 58 points against USC back in 1990. They were doubling him and then sending a third player to help from the week side when he got close to the basket, but they couldn't stop him. USC (and ex Washington State) Coach George Raveling said it was the single best performance he'd ever seen -- and it still is the best I've ever witnessed. From what I've read, I imagine Miller's night must have looked eerily similar in style and result.
I remember that game and that is exactly what it was like. Ray Allen draining 3's left and right is one thing, but he was straight schoolin Kidd and The Matrix trip after trip!
Yeah, they didn't really present much challenge for Miller or Bayless for that matter. Bayless could have scored at least 25 if he wanted to and if Miller wasn't feeling it/going insane. Mavs were horrible defensively.
Miller abusing the smaller Barea wasn't surprising, but Kidd is bigger and stronger them Miller and Marion didn't stop him once. Miller was hit, bumped and knocked down on several of his drives, yet made the shot every time. It was amazing to watch. You gotta love Miller calling for the ball in the post when he had Marion on him - and it was the right call. BNM
In the 4th quarter and overtime, everyone in the gym knew Miller was going to be the one taking the shots, and no matter who Dallas threw at him, they couldn't stop him. Barea and Kidd couldn't stop him getting in the paint and making lay-up after lay-up. So, they put Marion on him and Miller would fake the drive and knock down the jumper - or take him across the middle for the "Sly Hook". Miller did an awesome job recognizing who was on him and exploiting their weaknesses to his advantage. BNM
Andre's game was far more impressive than Damon S. 52. Damon and "what's his name" going for three after three and little to no defense. I never got to see the games where Petrie went for 50+ but heard them on the radio and I believe he was shooting from outside a lot. (I do not believe the three point line was in existence then)
I remember Rick Barry going for 50-60 points in a game against Portland in their house but Portland played very poor to know defense. Miller's was much better. Wow!!!!!
I wish some statistician kept track of layups. We have two kings of the layup in our backcourt. I love layups. A good layup (I will certainly include finger rolls) is better than most dunks.
The king of the finger roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
