We need an all-star (preferably two) to get to the playoffs on a regular basis and have a chance for a championship. EDIT: As soon as I say that, Matt Buser of Yahoo posts this little tid bit: I can’t say that I have any huge issues with the makeup of the NBA All-Star rosters. The fans decided on a solid collection of starters, Allen Iverson(notes) notwithstanding, and the reserves are composed of well-deserving players. If it were completely up to me, here are the changes I’d make: for the East, replace Iverson with Josh Smith(notes) (Rajon Rondo(notes) to start at PG), replace Paul Pierce(notes) with Brook Lopez(notes), and let a series of coin-flips decide between one of Antawn Jamison(notes), Al Horford(notes), David Lee(notes), and Andrew Bogut(notes); in the West, things look pretty good but I’d have Monta Ellis(notes) ahead of Amar’e Stoudemire(notes) and move Dirk Nowitzki(notes) to the starting five. Well, when's the last time the warriors had a rep of anything besides the 3 pt/dunk contest/skills challenge or the rook/soph game. Our warriors all-stars keep wearing wizards uniforms.
Kobe is sitting out the game due to injury and they replaced him with Kidd, more bad timing for Monta since he also got injured and probably wasn't considered due to the uncertainty and the fact that it's so close to the game. I like the story about how Cuban lobbied for Kidd. Still, end result: Monta gets no love/luck. *edit: read the espn story about the replacement
