    ...tonight.

LaMarcus, you've claimed you "want" to be in that realm. Well, buddy, here's your chance to go against someone who just climbed over that (AS) wall. Perfect opportunity to walk the walk, I'd say.

    Go Blazers!!!!

Wallace and Aldridge probably won't guard each other much as they play different positions. I'm interested to see what Batum can do to slow down Crash, but LA should be able to get great looks going up against Diaw

D'oh! Forgot about that. Wallace is such a beast on the boards, I keep mistaking him for a 4. :sigh:

Batum vs Wallace should be a great battle tonight.

Gonna be tough for the kid.

Nowitzki's not really a physical player - shoots a lot of fade-aways, etc. - so that boded well for Nic. Wallace, OTOH........yikes!

    It'll be a battle alright.

Aldridge had his chance against Dirk and failed miserably.

Dirk fades, Wallace will go straight at Nic's chest.

It'll be interesting to see how he handles the physicality.

He actually plays a fair bit of power forward. The other night Nazr played 25 minutes at the 5 spot and Diaw played 32 minutes... that means that only 57 of 96 minutes for the power foward and center spots were used. I didn't see the whole game, but I bet that Wallace spent over 20 minutes at the power forward spot (with Diaw sliding over to the 5).

Batum generally seems to excel more at the finesse 3/4's (Lewis, Dirk) than power guys like LeBron and Wallace. (Although LeBron is so skilled you could just as easily consider him a finesse type.) This should be a pretty big test for that shoulder of his tonight.

Martell does better with the bigger guys (when his confidence is up and he's aggressive), if they both gain consistency (they should as they're still young, I gotta think a coach who runs more than three plays would help too) we might be set at the three.

Yep. Wallace has played a lot of small ball four in his day, and it's not like his team loses any kind of toughness or rebounding edge with him there. Hell, he's more of a 4 than LMA really.

these days LA plays a fair bit of center. I don't think we'll see too much of him on Wallace, I expect Cunningham to have a go though.

On that note: can anyone think of any other SF in the history of the game who has averaged 11 rebounds per contest?

Adrian Dantley? Connie Hawkins? Elgin Baylor?

In any case, it's damn impressive. Crash is one of the most unique players in the league. I'll catch a Bobkitties game just to watch him..

Aldridge had a very good start to the 3rd quarter, when the Blazers extended their lead to double digits, and did a fair amount to wear down the Bobcats. If memory served, he scored the Blazers' first six points of the half, with moves near the basket. I think they started doubling him after that, which helped open things up for other players. Decent game for Aldridge, but less than what I'd like to see out of him.
