In general I agree with this post, but the Blazers don't need to keep their pipeline primed like most other teams in the league because (A) the team is already so young, and (B) the pipeline is already full.

Our 2000/2001 team had 12 players over 28 years old, with the younger players including Rasheed, Bonzi and I think Erik Barkley. Most of the team was over 30 and there was zero youth in the pipeline.

The Blazers are the opposite. The only key player long in the tooth is Miller and he seems fine for a while. But I could see priming the PG pump. But we do have Bayless looking good there, with Mills and Kop already in our sights. And the one position the Blazers have had the hardest time actually finding via youth is the PG spot.

    Why stop there?

If Utah or Minnesota gets a top 3 pick, they MIGHT be willing to deal. We could put together a pretty solid deal of young talent and reasonable contracts.

Blake and Outlaw are not going to be able to be traded since they are not under contract next year. If they sign new deals, they are staying here. Minnesota and Utah are going to be better off taking a better player and have him on a rookie contract than taking lesser players from us that are closer to free agency.

Not for sure where we get a roster spot for yet another rookie or any of the Euro's.

hmm guess you're right. nbadraft.net doesn't have that.

looks like we have the better pick of ours or the bulls and owe the worst to the wolves.
