Re: What is Kirk Hinrich's ceiling?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I keep hearing how Kirk Hinrich has a ceiling, but I've never been told what that ceiling is - doing a search revealed nothing but age old posts. After watching Kirk play in some games I taped previously, he seems to have very good point guard instincts and is unselfish to a point where it might not actually benefit the team because he has the ability and range to shoot from anywhere on the court. He can also break down the defense - he's a good dribbler and has a solid handle, not so much a street handle as some of the other, quicker guys, but he knows the fundementals of what to do, what not to do and how to do it all. His court vision is top notch for a PG his age, and I would peg him as one of the rising stars of the NBA, perhaps not a super-star, but easily valuable enough that no team would pass up an opportunity to grab him. Frankly, I can't see where his ceiling might be (as a comparison to another player). I think Steve Kerr said he saw Hinrich as a Nash player, but Hinrich plays good defense and has a much different game - he plays a little slower and a little more calculated than Steve Nash.</div> Any thoughts?

My thoughts, this kid is going to be an All-Star. He has great court vision, good timing on his passing, is one of the best in the business running the pick-n-roll, can knock down shots, he is quick, he plays under control, he's not really turnover prone, and he plays pressure defense. Maybe that made him sound like the worlds best PG, but I firmly believe this kid is an outstanding player. I would put a large amount of money on the fact that Hinrich will develope into an All-Star.

I agree, I could definitely see him as a future all-star. Very underated palyer. He's a good all-around PG and gives a ton of effort and heart every game. He's also a great leader on the court, has outstanding permiter defense, and a nice jumper, but is a bit inconsistent offensively.

I think Kirk has the chance to become a better player then Nash. I know he already has better defense then Nash right now. So, if Kirk continues to get better every year..I dont see why wouldnt he be a better player then Nash.

I think once he gets some talent around him you'll see that 6assist average jump pretty high. Plus his shooting percentage will be a lot better because he'll no longer have to force shots.I already see him as an elite guard in the league he just doesnt have enough scoring options around him to where he can play confortably. Next year will be his best season becuz the Bulls will have a lot of options to grab some scorers.

He can become a great player maybe better then nash. Nash is just the smartest PG in the nba rite now. But in upcomen years kirk will be a sure allstar

He will be an all-star and lead a contending team. He is a natural leader, a great defender, and he's great with the ball.

Kirk doesnt have the passing skills and scoring ability to be anywhere near Nash. He will be good, but I doubt he ever will make the All Star team, as he doesnt have great talent.

I don't know how you can even compare the two. First off, Kirk's playmaking ability is no where near nash's. Secondly, Hinrich plays on both ends of the court and excells in the half court. Basically the exact opposite of nash.

Re: What is Kirk Hinrich's ceiling?

I think Hinrich is overrated, but still a good player. He has progressed, maybe not stat-wise since he's been moved to offguard, and been playing smallball, im not sure he'll ever progress statistically though. If im correct, he'll be 25 by the start of next season, and stat-wise i still see nothing, although that isnt terrible, since his perimeter defense is some of the best i've ever seen.
