Yeah, it's pretty much the same reason you still hear tunes like "We will rock you" and "Papa was a rolling stone" at sports events. The funny thing is that when I hear music from my childhood I just get a little depressed. I listened to nothing but '70s rock until I was about 16. When I hear most of that stuff now I'm just amazed how narrow my taste was.
My 10 year old actually likes Queen. He gets a lot of R&B and hip-hop at his mom's which drives me nuts, but he that stuff, too. I'd like to see Pearl Jam at the Super Bowl...except it seems almost impossible to really give a good show there...
