I really hope we bring him back next year to replace Mo Lucas.

Howard just released a can of whoop-ass on his teammates. He had enough and I don't blame him for how the team lost against OKC. That OKC game was a gross one.

So all we need is someone to destroy tubs of ice and water in the locker room every day and then we can win all our games. :D

i love these kinda stories. motivation comes from many place - and sometimes it needs to be this blunt. that game was a complete disaster and he just said everything that every fan was thinking and exactly what mixum thinks every day.

Everybody on the team should have been that upset. Why do you have to be a veteran to really care about wins and losses?

Still, I salute Howard. He got everybody's attention, and it paid dividends.

You think just because players don't throw shit around the locker room after every loss that they don't care about losses?

Part of it (sadly) may have to do with the kinds of players KP has drafted. There seems to be a whole lot of mild mannered, milquetoast, mellow, 'good character' guys on this squad. You definitely don't want a room full of hot-heads, but this team is pretty devoid of fire for the most part.

The team's leaders this season have been Roy and Przybilla. Not having them playing that role lately because of injuries has left a bit of a void. Glad to see Howard step up and play the Alpha dog role.

Nice to see. Funny to think he was supposed to be the 15th man, cruising his way through a final season as a practice dummy. I keep waiting for him to wear out, but he just keeps it going.

Honestly, I think the guy may even have one more season in him after this.

I really miss these articles by Quick this year. I got goosebumps reading it. How nice to read about some veteran leadership. I hope Brandon Roy was in there to take notes.

That's an interesting theory considering the team is still in the playoff hunt after losing Oden >50% of the year, Przybilla for > 50% of the year, Roy for ~25% of the year so far, Outlaw for 100% of the year, Rudy for ~ 40% of the year, and Batum for >80% of the year. Calling into question the desire of the players, who have done nothing short of playing their asses off this year when they could have felt sorry for themselves and cashed a paycheck, while sitting from the sidelines seems odd to me.

I wonder if we're watching the same team?

Can we have Howard destroy equipment after every loss?

If it produces the level of effort I saw last night then it should be a requirement.

This is something the Spurs are missing. Howard did the right thing. Sometimes it takes a frustrated player to light a fire under the team's ass.
