    From The MMA Manifesto:

I really don't want to be the bad guy here. I really don't want to rain on the parade. But I feel I have no choice. So here it goes: RANDY COUTURE IS NOT A TOP 5 LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTER. (Read more)

Seems like the winner of Rashad/Rampage should be the number one contender.

Agree on all counts as I posted in the UFC 109 thread a few days ago. I could understand the title shot argument if he gets just ONE more win against a legit quality 205er. Right now its pathetic to try and convince us that hes deserving of a fight against Lyoto/Shogun. Winner of Rampage-Rashad should get the next shot. Randy oughta fight loser of that fight or loser of Lyoto-Shogun but I could be ok with a title shot even if his next win was vs. Luiz Cane, Forrest Griffin, Thiago Silva, Little Nog. Just one win against someone of relevance please.

The latest rumour is that Couture is going to step in for the injured Vitor Belfort and fight Anderson Silva.

^ Couture vs. Franklin is being considered for the UFC 115 main event as well.

I really don't like the Couture-Franklin rumour. What purpose does that match serve, other than allowing the UFC to use it as a main event? If Couture beats Franklin it doesn't prove that he is "back" and likewise if Franklin beats Couture. I want to see Couture fight a guy still in his prime so we can see how good he still is.
