    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'm curious how this is different from Christianity, where all evil originates from the devil and which propagates the belief that all people are sinners and base. That seems like just as "paranoid" a belief.

I have a hard time putting stock in phrases like "sorcery religion" as though major religions are perfectly rational and without any hint of mystical beings like demons, angels, rituals, etc.

I don't think religion aids progress, but I don't think vodou is what is holding Haiti back, if Christian societies can flourish in terms of material progress.

After fucking around with a Voodoo doll in N'Awlins a few years ago, I believe in Voodoo (this was the bottle in the head incident).

I had a vid up here a while back but took it down.

Basically I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2002 and I bought a voodoo doll. All night I was fucking around with it, giving it a voice, telling girls to kiss it, waving it at horses' asses, etc....

anyway, all of a sudden I get hit in the head with a bottle....i didn't get knocked out just a shard hit me in the head. Got treated by the EMTs and then I noticed the voodoo doll was gone...i was holding to it pretty tightly.

Interesting, maybe someone was following around "that fucking white tourist" who was mocking their beliefs and wanted to give you some "medicine"
