Travis' expiring contract, or maybe Blake's might get it done (maybe throw in a second rounder to sweeten the deal if needed)? The Magic could probably use a steady backup point guard, especially one that is best at shooting from the corners.

Does the article say we're looking at him or that we need a big man?

Bass would be an ideal fit if we were to make a trade. We wouldn't have to give up anybody important to our future to get him, as he's rotting away on Orlando's bench. He's a banger, a hustler, has proven he can put the ball through the hoop by being scrappy and he's young not a stop gap. A player I could really get behind us moving Blake or Outlaw for.

I thought we should have gone after him in the off season.

I love the forum for this reason exactly.

Nowhere in that article does it menton, suggest, hint, or whatever, that the Blazers are looking at Brandon Bass.

I don't think most of us think there is any kind of deal in the offering, it's more just us speculating about what it might take to get him.

I think that just listed teams that would like a new big on their team. That's it.

True, which is why I put a question mark after my title. It's certainly possible that the Blazers are looking at him, since we know that Pritchard is exploring every option he can.

Hypothetical (as we don't know if the blazers are actually looking at Bass)

    But what about:

    Blake/Outlaw/Pendergraph

    for

    Bass/AJohnson/1st round pick

The magic are able to save some money in the next couple of yeas, pick up a couple of nice pieces for their run this year (both would fit great into the corner three offense, in the magic's set the 1 and four are in the corners, the 2/3 are on the perimeter and Howard is underneath), it's built for these two. And Pendergraph provides the occasional toughness they're asking for out of Bass (but only 1 out of every 4 games at this point). I think they get more talent and shorter contracts. They give up their first rounder, but it won't be good anyways.

For us, we consolidate a little, add a more experienced (and just as tough) big as Pendergraph, and he comes at a fairly cheap price for three years. And we get a vet PG (not nearly as good as Blake) to provide stability (from the bench), opening up time for Fernandez and Bayless. Plus we know KP loves picks.

    Miller/Bayless/Johnson/Mills
    Roy/Fernandez
    Webster/Batum
    Aldridge/Cunningham
    Howard/Bass

yeah we are undersized (for this year), but we've got a lot of tough players and Nate does like small ball anyways. Plus it does set us up decent for next year when Joel and Greg return and we don't have bloated contracts to worry about.
