Hey did you notice something? "Ex-Wiz guard"! I think we're finally shaking off the Jail Blazer image in the eyes of the mainstream media.
Seriously, though. He's probably the last person I would have thought of if you mentioned a ball player doping.
It's the borderline guys who are half a step from not being able to play any more or who aren't quite good enough to break into the big leagues that I mostly suspect use PEDs to give them a leg up ... not to say I don't think there are some high profile guys doing PEDs either.
What he used, Deca-Durabolin, can and has made men impatient. 'Deca-d***' as it's called with bodybuilders.
If you look at Dixon and his physique...then contrast that with Stern's quotes about how steroids don't/wouldn't help NBA players. It's BS, you know there are NBA players doping... Stern: "The sport of basketball emphasizes a specialized set of physical abilities – particularly quickness, agility and basketball skill – that are distinct from those required in a number of other sports. Accordingly, illicit substances that could assist athletes in strength sports (such as weightlifting and football), power sports (such as baseball), or endurance sports (such as cycling or marathon running), are not likely to be of benefit to NBA players."
Can anyone explain why a drug that helps you gain 10 pounds of muscle (only if timed exactly with many weight room workouts) should result in a 1-game suspension, much less a continental ban?
The quote is probably from when the MLB, NFL, and NBA commissioners testified to the Congressional committee of blowhards investigating how to stop all freedom in this country. Legalize all drugs. If someone hurts himself, that's the price of freedom. You're not legalizing them hurting others, just themselves.
