Yeah, I know. I go to hawaii every year, I fucking love it there though. Real expensive.... Nightlife and the locals ARE ghetto...but I don't kick it with locals.
I'll likely end up back in Oregon, but I used to rent a share in a summer place in the town south of Rehobeth called Dewey Beach. Good times. Good times.
Might want to go to an island other than O'ahu then. My mom came out to see my son after he was born, and having come out here in the 70's and seeing it as it was at that time, she was so disappointed in it now that she stayed inside my house all nine days rather than go to the beach or do anything else you can do here. She said the congestion was particularly unsightly.
I like staying in Waikiki actually. I'd love to get a condo there someday. traffic was terrible though on the highway 1 or whatever it is coming from the aeroporte.
Maybe I'm just a grump, but the older I get, the less I want to be around Waikiki. And make sure you do it after your kids graduate.
I'm filipino, I'll blend in. I like the chill areas like Kailua and the North Shore, but I'm really consumeristic so Waikiki appeals to me. Aside from the high cost, hawaii appeals to me later in life...island lifestyle! everything is so casual. love that.
nope! only been there twice actually, one just to chill on the beach and another to go kayaking. fun times. Island Snow was great shave ice though! http://www.yelp.com/biz/island-snow-hawaii-kailua-2#hrid:joN-QMRivb62e8tsCipouA/src:self I REALLY wanted to hit up the Kokua festival this year, but I'm going to be in a wedding that day.
dunno if I can hang in Oregon...i love it and all but too slow paced for me. I know hawaii is slow paced but I FUCKING LOVE GREAT weather. It was perfect today in LA....70 degrees, sunny and I was chillin at the beach (not on the beach though, too cold for that) but about 200 feet away.
