i became a blazer fan in the early 90s watching drexler and company vs the bulls. i followed them since. i never could root for local teams since i watched sports. i hate the red sox, yankees, pats, celtics, uconn. you think im hard on the blazers? you should hear what i say about those teams. the team i despise most in all of sports.... patriots. i always liked the college atmosphere type pro teams. portland has always been an amzing home court like no other. i could never be a fan of a team where the local fans arent passionate or a fair weather. see new england sports. enter buffalo/portland.
And given your response I believe you're a Blazer fan. You just don't have the same emotional connection that Portlanders have. The thing is, it's not that you're hard on them, it's that you make arguments that are not based in reality imo. I can be hard on the team too as many may remember from the Telfair days. However, my criticism of the team and Telfair was backed up by my knowledge of what they missed in Al Jefferson. I have yet to see an argument made by you where you suggest a reasonable alternative.
Actually, I think I have an idea who Mixum is -- if he is that person, I have to admit a new respect for him.
give him credit, it is very hard to be a fan when you hate the players, the coaches, the management, and the fan base... that is truly hard core! (explain again what it is that you DO like about the blazers?)
Well, there are surprisingly few nationally syndicated DJs out of Connecticut, and even fewer who use the term mixmaster as an occupational phrase. Filter from that those who are too young or too old (Mixum's 32 -- only a couple months younger than I am), those who weren't always in CT, and those who are too famous, and you get basically one result out of the intertubes. Cross-referencing that dude's show schedule with Mixum's posting habits pretty much confirmed it for me. http://www.kiss957.com/pages/mixmasters.html DJ Rudy C, would you please stand up?
I was bored and sick (got a nasty head cold), and had nothing better to do on a Sunday. Looks like Cake went the quicker way 'round to get to the answer, though! I will say this: he's really done all he says he's done. And for that, I gotta respect him. He's doing shit a lot of posers would lie about to get chicks. He may be negative on the teams he loves, but he's got a cool job, and no lie. I actually respect him more now than I did before the search began. I hope this will serve to humanize him, because he seemed like a faceless troll for a while. I would want him to stick around and I would want us as a group to actually accept him a little more for knowing there's an actual dude behind the name.
