Feilhaber went down without contact in practice. Aarhus manager Erik Rasmussen said Benny will be going for scans to determine the extent of the injury. I've read an estimate somewhere that puts him out for two weeks, but scans will determine if there is any more serious damage.

    Brief report from Ives here.

And in the most specific update from Aarhus, Benny is going to be out of action for "several weeks." Thanks for the "update," Soccernet.

And here's something new for the US injury situation...GOOD NEWS!!!!

Soccer365 reports that Benny's ankle isn't bad. As Benny said:
"I'm in Brazil doing my rehab, and there was a very positive prognosis," Feilhaber told Soccer365. "Nothing wrong with the ligaments, no breaks, no cartilage problems, only a bad sprain."

"I'm staying in Rio to do my rehab as me and my club both think this is the quickest way for me to get back to fitness," he added. "I hope to go back to Denmark by the end of next week and restart training by the end of the month at the latest."

I feel like being sent to Rio is the best way to do most things.

And it apparently wasn't that bad. Benny made his return to Aarhus subbing on in the 70th minute of a 4-0 win today.

Not all good news though as Marcus Tracy is out for the season with knee tendonitis. If Tracy got healthy and got some time, scored a few goals, he would have been a serious contender for a World Cup spot. Now, he'll have to wait until 2014.
