I could definitely see Steve coming back, and them possibly even agreeing to a buyout with him and having him resign here before the season is over. Travis will get a nice contract from another team that needs scoring, and I think we'll be better off developing Batum and Cunningham to be our small forwards and possibly tweener fours of the future.
Pritchard doesn't call Camby unless the deal is done. And I think Camby will get over it soon. I mean, he's sitting having dinner with guys who are probably his best friends and then he gets this phone call he is traded. Sure, he is upset. But then he's gonna realize it's only for half a season and Portland isn't that far from LA if his wife wants to visit and he'll relize the Blazers are are pretty good bunch of guys and if they start winning with him on the floor he'll be even happier. I think his biggest resentment will be against the Clippers, for not being loyal to him and also for not keeping him updated on what was happening. I don't think he would want to ever play for them again.
He likes it here, Pritchard loves him, Nate uses him as a crutch, and he fits in real nice with Brandon. I think he'd get a lot more fan love if he'd only play 15 minutes or so a game, too, and provided Greg stays healthy he'd be on a championship contender.
At first glance, this looks like a 27 game rental of Camby to give is some added rebounding and shot blocking up front with Greg and Joel out for the season. I wonder, however, if he plays well and fits in well, if we will try to re-sign him. He's been playing PF all this season, and half of last. Perhaps he could be the rebounding, defending back-up PF we have been lacking. I always pictured a younger, wide-body banger in that role, but Camby is currently leading the league in DRB% and TRB% and second in REB/G. He doesn't block as many shots as he used to, but with 99 blocks for the season, he has almost as many blocks as our entire active roster and more blocks in 51 games than Joel had in 82 games last year. Hey, I just realized Camby was born the same day as me! (Luckily, not the same year) This guy is gonna be solid!!
That's exactly my feeling...how do these things get out early giving other teams a chance to better our offer at the last second?!?
Content changed on this link http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns wtf, it doesnt mention denver anymore
I would guess it was leaked by the Clipps hoping for either a better offer or to squeeze a little more out of the Blazers. BNM
