I really like this trade and wanted it to happen more then outlaw/blake for haywood. unfortunately outlaw is my favorite blazer which means i'll have to watch some clipper games. Anyway this fills a position we really needed and i'm gonna be stoked if it goes down.
Our chemistry has been crap for 8 weeks. We've played .500 over the last 8 weeks. Guys coming in, guys coming out. Nobody knowing their playing time on any given night. Kevin Pritchard just took care of the chemistry problem by removing Blake and Outlaw....addition by subtraction. Outlaw was about to come in and really screw up the chemistry of this team. He would have removed minutes from anyone who played small forward and power forward, mainly Batum, Roy, Webster and Cunningham. Blake, though needed with Roy, Bayless and Rudy's injuries the last 8 weeks was highly useful, his usefulness is over now that Rudy, Roy and Bayless are all healthy. That takes care of another chemsitry issue. Roles are now finally identified. The Starters: Camby Aldridge Batum Roy Miller The second team: Howard Cunningham Webster Rudy Bayless The 8-man playoff Rotation: 1.Camby 2. Aldridge 3. Batum 4. Roy 5. Miller 6. Howard 7. Rudy (depending on the night either Bayless or Webster or Cunningham) I'd put that group of 7+1 against any team in the NBA. It's full of talent and experience with the 8th player being inexperienced (though it's hard to think of the 5-year Veteran Webster as inexperienced)). Chemistry is solved!
Not bad.... PG 1. Andre Miller 2. Jerryd Bayless 3. Patrick Mills SG 1. Brandon Roy 2. Rudy Fernandez PF 1. LaMarcus Aldridge 2. Dante Cunningham 3. Jeff Pendergraph 4. Shavlik Randolph SF 1. Nicolas Batum 2. Martell Webster C 1. Marcus Camby 2. Juwan Howard 3. Joel Przybilla 4. Greg Oden
From Rotoworld: Big Trade, Part 2 The Clippers traded Marcus Camby to the Trail Blazers for Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake. Camby automatically becomes the starting center the Blazers were dying to get their hands on, while DeAndre Jordan and Craig Smith are now worth a look with the Clippers. We expect Smith to start at PF for LAC, and this trade was literally announced just seconds before we were ready to post this column. Early reaction is that the Blazers committed highway robbery, but remember the Clips had Camby handed to them on a platter last year. In addtion, Jerryd Bayless should see a boost in playing time if Blake is gone.
I didn't edit it completely. I'll leave it so your posts make sense. I counted 15 players, so I thought it was fine, but we should have 14 players now.
What's amazing is Camby averages 3.3 Field Goals per game and 3.0 assists per game. He's assisting on as many baskets as he's scoring per game. Talk about unselfish!
ESPN's Rumor mill has been updated "Blazers get camby" Two-for-one trade between Clippers and Blazers Hope that means its official now.
That's why I quoted it...I knew you'd try and change it to make me look like a fool...but I was too smart for you!!! How do you like them apples Mr Sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...I was just giving a tiny little bit of good-natured shiite...I knew what you meant.
FYI, Camby turns 36 in five weeks. But, he's playing like he's 29, so it doesn't matter as we only need him for 25+ games and the playoffs. What's good is he just had a rest since he didn't play in the All-Star game, and if he doesn't play on Tuesday because of the "status" issues, he'll have an additional 3 days of rest. He could use it as he's been healthy all season and has played in 51 games, and more minutes than even Brandon Roy. His 1596 minutes are only 72 minutes less than Andre Miller and are 150 more than Martell Webster.
Guess we know now who was on KP's "do not trade list", and who was on the "we know what we've got in these guys" list.
