Wow...Miami is getting smoked. Personally, I think this is a bad playoff matchup for Miami. The Heat are a horrible defensive team out on the perimeter, and thats where NJ's at its best, along with the fast break points. Collins is doing a great job on Shaq, and Carter is annoying Wade on offense because of his length. Miami's not making the open threes that NJ are making right now. Simple as that.
Collins is letting Shaq waste his energy talking to the media about stupid stuff while he is showing that the man they use to call 'Shaq Snack' can actully play ball.Let's Go Nets!
The Nets are just about to steal this one on the road. Great job, Vince and Kidd combined for 49 points, Kidd did a good job of scoring for a change. After seeing tonights' game, I think they have a great chance of winning this series in 6 games.
Like I said earlier, contain VC and stay out of foul trouble, they failed to do both and they lost the game. However,I feel they will be back with a vengeance in game 2.
Can't believe that NJ lost that big lead. Oh well, it was pretty much expected from the Heat to make a huge comeback. This game gave NJ some momentum, I think, really important to steal a win on the road in a playoff series.
We lost the lead because RJ went out. He hurt his ankle in some way. Hope its not to serious or you could count this series over :no1:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nets' Jefferson has bone bruise in ankleMIAMI -- New Jersey forward Richard Jefferson is doubtful for Game 2 of the Nets' playoff series with Miami after bruising a bone in his right ankle during a 100-88 Game 1 win.An MRI exam was performed on Jefferson's ankle Tuesday, and was negative -- as was an X-ray taken shortly after he was injured during the third quarter of New Jersey's 100-88 win in the series opener Monday night. With Jefferson, the Nets cruised to a huge lead in Game 1 over the Heat. Without him, what was a 28-point margin was whittled to nine by Miami in the final minutes."Just a sprained ankle," Jefferson said. "It's feeling better. No swelling, more just like a bruise. There's still tenderness but every few hours, it feels like it gets better."Jefferson walked into the arena Tuesday without crutches, but with a walking boot. He did not participate in the team's off-day practice, yet has not been formally ruled out for Game 2."We'll see where Richard's at tomorrow," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said before practice. "He's not out. Regardless, we have a lot of faith in the guys in our locker room. You only take the court for one reason, and that reason is to win the game, regardless of who you have out there."Jefferson hit his first four shots in Game 1, helping push New Jersey to a quick 18-5 lead. He finished with 20 points in 23 minutes on 7-for-11 shooting. If he cannot go on Wednesday, the Nets will probably turn to Lamond Murray, who had eight points in 34 minutes in the opener."RJ's a competitor, so he'll do whatever he can do to help the team," Nets guard Jason Kidd said. "He's not going to go out there and hurt himself or the team. First, we have to make sure that if he does go, that he's ready to go."Neither Jefferson nor Frank seemed to subscribe to the notion that since the Nets already won Game 1 -- and took home-court advantage away from the Heat -- that New Jersey would be better served by resting Jefferson on Wednesday and not even thinking about him trying to play."You don't want to give any one game away," Jefferson said. "If you have an opportunity to play, you try, but you also have to understand that you try not to jeopardize later games."</div>Link
Nets looked really good yesterday, I think we match up really well with Miami and give them alot of mismatch problems which we exploited in game one. We came out with a lot of energy and attacked the basket strong which really helped us last night. Hopefully RJ will be able to come back, he has been listed as doubtful for game 2 in Miami and reportedly has a bone bruise on his left ankle after spraining it last night in the third quarter. Without him, I dont know if we can come out on top in this series, it was a great start, but its only one game and alot can change. Hopefully RJ can come back strong and we can continue this solid play that we saw in game one..
Hopefully they continue to attack the basket and take advantage of matchups and athleticism/speed against Miami. Ive said it all along, I think this team matches up well and I predicted a 6 or 7 games series with NJ coming out on top. Hopefully we continue to play with aggresivness and play hard like we did in game one and come out on top in the series..Hopefully Jefferson will be able to come back and be a factor, as well..
I dont see us winning a game 7 in Miami. Either we win it before that or we dont win it at all. Only great great teams like the Pistons last year could go into a opponets house and win a game 7.
The Nets are gonna win this series in 6 games. This should be a fun series to see played out and hopefully the Heat are eliminated.
