Whoa I think it's huge that he understands that he eventually will have to come off the bench.

    Oden/Pryz/Camby

    Triple headed monster?

I'm stoked to see the defensive combo of Batum and Camby on the floor. So much length, and such good defenders. I hope we get to have him for a few years.

After seeing that, I do not believe any of the rumors that he is not happy here. I think he is going to make us legit WCF contenders this year. For sure. We have seen how the team adjusted to the loss of Outlaw. Now we get to see us without Blake WITH another big body who happens to be pretty freaking good! Who will allow Juwan (who is playing pretty damn good himself, considering) to play his natural position. Who brings another big body vet to help our very good youngsters. I am super freaking stoked about this trade!!!!! This is EXACTLY what we need and PRAISE K.P. for waiting it out.

Tell me at the end of the game against Houston last year that KP would get rid of Blake and Outlaw for Camby and sign Miller by Feb??! I would say yeah right. A+ KP. Well done.

    Miller\Bayless
    Roy\Rudy
    Webster\Batum\DC
    LMA\Howard\JP (DC)
    Camby (Howard, JP)

    And potentially next year...

    Miller\Bayless\Mills
    Roy\Rudy
    Batum\Webster\DC
    LMA\JP\Howard (Camby\DC)
Camby\Oden\Joel (put him here since he wont be back till like January 2011)

WOW!!!! Possibly Freeland in that mix?! Turn Howard into permanent mentor and injury insurance.

    I'm stoked.

You really think all 3 will stay healthy all season? We will need all 3.

And I put Marcus ahead of Joel anyways. Camby is better.

Actually, Joel is rumored to be on track to be back in time for the start of training camp - which is inline with the typical recovery time for this injury (none of this 1.5 months ahead of schedule hyperbole).

If we re-sign Camby, it makes Joel and his expiring contract a trade asset. Or, gives us the option to keep Joel for insurance against injury (my preference).

If we resign Camby, and don't make any other significant moves, I expect our rotation will look like:

    Starters:
    Miller
    Roy
    Batum
    Aldridge
    Oden

With Bayless backing up both guard spots, with spot minutes to Rudy (who I actually see getting moved for a low priced vet who will gladly accept a back-up role on a contending team).

Martell and Cunningham will battle it out for the back-up minutes at the 3. My money is on Cunningham.

Camby will be the primary back-up at the 4, and will split the back-up center minutes with Joel.

When everyone is healthy, I'd really like to see a tighter 8 or 9 man rotation of:

    Guards: Roy, Miller, Bayless
    Forwards: Aldridge, Batum, Camby, Cunningham
    Centers: Oden, Camby, Joel

The rest would get spot minutes and cover for injuries.

Camby can actually play power forward too, so I could see him filling the backup four spot if minutes are crunched.

Damn, I don't think there's a better shot-blocking trio than that one. Of course.. they gotta stay healthy, but with those three and Batum, and LA (if he feels like). That's a looonnggg front court with a lot of options. Nice!

I don't know if we can resign him- he's gotten more minutes than we'll have available once Oden comes back. I don't think he can get 30 minutes in backup 4/5 next year, especially if Pryzbilla is healthy. He would be great to have for insurance, but I'd see him signing with someone that can either give him more minutes or a more established contender.

I agree with all of this except I'm not sure about the Rudy part.

I don't know if minutes are a huge concern to him (doesn't he take off the second half of a back to back). But I do think at his stage in his career, he will pick a team he wants to play for . . . my guess with a playoff team, in a city and with a coach he likes.

That is what I would be looking for in the latter stages of my career in his position.
