Every senior here has to write a term paper that can be a debatable. It has to be backed up by research and must have a clear thesis. I need a topic by tomorrow. I was thinking of doing LeBron vs Kobe, but my teacher said that it would be more opinion than fact or some shit like that. Some other sports related topics she said were: Does bringing in a certain athlete bring up team revenue? Do the players salaries match their performance? Are steroids bad for sports? Have the large salaries of professional athletes had a negative impact on the athletes or the sports? Is the NBA dress code a good idea? Any ways on how I could find research on these topics? Any ideas for the topic I should write about? I need this by tomorrow, so I would like some help. Thanks
I wrote a paper on the origins of baseball. Most people think it was abner doubleday who invented the game, but if you do some research, you'll find out it was someone else who deserves the credit. I got an A for it, it's a good story and read if you do it right.
I don't think it will be too opinion based. Where do you think I could get research for it? And personally, what do you think of the age limit?
i like the salary idea....cap vs non capped salaries Or people who say athletes are overpaid....yet they are the ones bringing people into the sport and owners should just get all that money. If you wanna do the age limit thing I would find all the old articles of brandon jennings deciding to going to europe
You can kind of describe the two sides of the story with a lot of articles that have been written about it, using EBSCO host etc. I think that the limit should be 18 because u can enlist in the army etc. but the NBA is independent so they can make their own rules. Check for NBA
find the names of all the HS kids who declard for the draft who ended up a bust or worst...didnt get drafted so then couldnt play in college
and you could get cynical and mention Patrick Ewing's draft, and the number of fouls called for Kobe and Lebron vs scrubs on random team.
Mine is the best. You just analyze every championship team and find common similarities. Percentage that were won by big men as their leading scorer, does defense win championships, etc.
The main problem in picking a topic is that your teacher requires research. Most sports topics don't have a lot of articles you can find. Like, should the Blazers have kept Bob Whitsitt. Or the issues of the players back then. It's on the internet but takes a lot of time to research. Pick a topic that's already been put together into a book. And my bid is $1900.
Book of Basketball by Bill Simmons! Wikipedia, you can also reference the references on the articles.
