The other scenario, I guess, is the Heat get Amare, the Bulls get Beasley and the Suns get Deng. I can’t imagine the Bulls would just do a pure salary dump of Deng, and the credible reports that he was offered up for Al suggests to me that the Bulls would want more than just Z back if they're dealing Deng. I'm not sure they're really pull the trigger on Kurt for expirings if push comes to shove, but I'm sure they wouldn't on Deng. Why not just cut out the middle-man and do Deng/parts for Amare? Oh, that’d put them over the luxury tax. So Beasley + Cap relief makes pretty good sense. They’d sort of kill two birds with one stone there, although I can’t imagine anyone is enthusiastic about Beasley. It’s kind of funny if you think about it. The financial and “post scoring” factors drive the Bulls to this conclusion, but it would force them to take a big personality risk.
If Miami wanted Stoudemire, they could have him. They've got a couple 1st round picks to work with, they've got Beasley to work with. I think in the end, they'll buckle down and throw a damn good offer out there. Wade + Stoudemire is just scary and could be enough incentive for Wade to re-sign.
I don't think Wade is leaving Miami and would rather recruit Bosh this summer. I can't believe no one else has offered more for Amare though? Big Z & JJ Hickson for Amare is a steal for the Cavs.

Here's a trade I put together along these lines * Deng/JJ/Pargo to Suns (-$4.08M in salary) * Beasley, Q, Collins to Bulls (+$0.3M... still under the tax) * Amare, Amundson to Heat (+$3.9M in salary, and they're over the luxury tax, so this costs even more). I think the Suns are still about $5M over the tax, so maybe even this amount of savings won't get them under the LT threshold, but it'd probably get them pretty close. Maybe they could send Grant Hill off to a contender for some cheapo guy and get themselves under the tax entirely? Yes, in fact, if you add Hill to the Heat and send Chalmers+Cook back to the Suns, you get the Suns under the tax. You also get a deal that seems to help every team: The Bulls 1- Rose 2- Kurt, Q 3- Salmons 4- Beasley, Taj 5- Noah, Miller We've got our max cap space for next year, and a scoring 4. We're not hollowed out, so I can picture us still making a fairly good playoff run, and then making a solid pitch to any of the major FAs next year. The Heat 1- Alston, Arroyo 2- Wade 3- Hill, Wright 4- Amare, Haslem 5- JO'N They get a major upgrade in Amare and a feel-goo, d limited-minute star in Hill to pitch Wade that this is all going to work out. The Suns 1- Nash, Chalmers 2- JRich, Barbosa, Cook, Pargo 3- Deng, Dudley, Dragic 4- Clark, JJ 5- Lopez, Frye OK, I'd see lots of JRich at the 3 and Deng at the 4. Deng is solid and obviously cheaper than Amare. That's kind of nasty, but what do they expect in shedding enough salary to get under the LT? They've still got Nash and lots of guys to score. I'd guess this deal hinges on the Heat feeling they really need to do this to keep Wade. Maybe they throw in a pick or two for the Suns?

Two sources told ESPN.com that the Suns called the Cavs this afternoon and told them they had decided against sending Amare to Cleveland. A few hours later the Cavs had completed a deal for Antawn Jamison. That leaves the Miami Heat as the only known suitor for Amare. One source close to the process disputed what a Suns source told me earlier today about Miami's reluctance to give up draft picks for Amare. The Heat own the Raptors' and their own first-round draft picks this year. "The Heat have offered a pick," the source said. "I think this comes down to, will they offer their second first-rounder as well?" The question is, will the Heat offer more now they know their biggest competitor for Amare is out of the picture? Remember, the Heat can sign him straight up as a free agent this summer without giving up either pick. If the Suns balk at making a deal with Miami, chances are they're keeping Amare. The only other potential suitor may be the Chicago Bulls. A source said the Bulls expressed interest in Amare earlier in the week, but they've been quiet on the Amare front since then. If the Suns can't make a trade before Thursday's deadline, expect Amare to be unhappy. "He's going to be upset," one source familiar with the process told ESPN.com. Bulls looking like they blew it again. They had a chance to free the cap space to sign 2 top tier FAs, or trade for one and have enough cap to sign another. Meanwhile, the Clippers show us how it's done. The Knicks, too. Ironic that we're the Clippers East, and now the Clippers West are moving into the big league.
Oh really? I don't see the Bulls are under the cap enough to sign a MAX FA. Meanwhile, the Clippers DO have the cap space to sign one, to go along with Chris Kaman, Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, and Blake Griffin. While the Bulls fell out of the TMac talks, the Knicks are about to obtain a $23M expiring contract.
