    Geoff Petrie is quite underrated.

Getting rid of Martin's contract, clearing up room for Casspi/Evans, and getting a legit post player on a very cheap deal all in the same move. AND, he still has TMac's contract to dangle in front of Walsh tomorrow.

    Nice.

Along with being SG sized, Tyreke Evans has confirmed he's more of a 2 then a 1 in his play. Sac decided that they'd rather have a productive banger (Landry) then another quality 2G (Martin). Landry and Casspi could be an interesting pairing at forward, now all the Kings need is a decent option at the two hardest positions to fill... the 1 and 5. Not that he's all that, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Blake land there next offseason.

Houston scores the best overall talent in Martin. He may not show it again till next season because of the wrist, but Martin can be an unstoppable wing... definitely a potential AS if he's on a winning team. That Houston lacks both a 2G and a consistent lead offensive threat makes this seem a near perfect fit for KM.

Well, they have Udrih now, who is better than Blake, and Hawes who isn't that bad either.

i like this trade a lot. obviously don't like giving up landry, but he's replaceable. kevin martin is a very good scorer that helps this season and will be huge as a 2nd option next year.

    pg - brooks/lowry
    sg - martin/budinger
    sf - ariza/battier
    pf - scola/hayes
    c - yao/anderson

rockets lineup appears it will look something like that next season and i love it.

good call, rocketeer. There are no holes in that lineup. As long as everyone stays healthy, I see them competing with us for HCA next season.

But I think they're lotto bound this year.

Brooks and Martin seem like a bad match to me. We shall see.

the rockets could still sneak into the playoffs, though i don't expect it. the playoff teams will probably be the 8 already in that position(though an amare trade could change that and give the rockets more hope).

next year if the rockets can stay healthy(which is a question mark with yao/martin) they look like a team that could be a title contender if everything comes together as it looks on paper.

What if the Kings trade Kevin Martin but not Sergio? Then Tyreke replaces Martin. Beno Udrih, who plays both 1 and 2, replaces Tyreke. Sergio moves up to replace Udrih.

Martin and Brooks is way too small of backcourt to compete in the NBA. Martin is an oft injured non-defensive player who just puts up stats, would not want him.

Yeah, but he's really skinny, so he's still "small" even though he's tall. Combined, he and Brooks don't even weigh 350.

I don't think either of those two are starter quality.

Overated IMO. He also is very fragile, hurt most of his career.

Well done by SAC. They trade an expensive, extraneous, one-trick SG for Carl Landry, Cap relief, picks and the right to extort Jordan Hill and more picks from the knicks.

Maybe his body is just like Durant's or Rudy's, where he can't put on any weight/strength. Either way, it's not like he's soft. Dude averaged over 10 FTAs per game last season.

No because if his body was like Durants, he would play almost every game, every season.
