Tyrus and Larry Brown are going to get along famously. Like Ike and Tina Turner or Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.
What, like how badly Rasheed Wallace and Brown got along? Comon man. Brown has made a career out of getting players with baggage to buy in and play well. It wasn't that long ago, Stephen Jackson was the latest head case that was supposed to be a failure in Charlotte. Larry Brown has dealt with AI and Rasheed Wallace, why would Tyrus Thomas be a problem for him?
Sheed is smart, but has a temper problem. TT is dumb with a temper problem. Maybe Brown will get to him, but, just as likely - TT will try to kill him. Who knows.
History is on Browns side. All Tyrus Thomas wanted was playing time. Charlotte has plenty of playing time at PF for him. Considering they already have a guy in Diaw who will buy in to coming off the bench, I see this as a great fit for him.
Cool. Nate will be able to outcoach them. I hadn't thought of this bonus to us. Chalk up an extra win.
Except that we don't have any more games against them this year. I'm sure they'll have enough time (after the period of mourning, of course) to replace Brown after his passing before we play them again.

Comparing Tyrus to Rasheed, AI and Capt Jack is an insult to those players. They are all proven high quality players. Tyrus is a ton of things but a proven NBA player is not one of them. It's not only the fact that Tyrus will be difficult to coach. It will also be because he isn't a team player, isn't nearly as good as he thinks he is and is mentally handicapped. Rasheed, AI and Jackson are none of those things.
I never stated he would play like they did. All I did is state that Brown would win the control battle. I have no idea what Tyrus Thomas "top" is for his talent. There are 2 coaches I trust with troubled players in this league. Their names are Brown and Jackson.
