Some comments I digged up that I wrote about them back then.... Posted on Catch Rudy, Spain on TV on August 12, 2008, 3:35AM More love for Rudy...........Even though Rudy plays with Helter-Skelter every minute he's on the floor (apparently the norm in International play), he again showed a great ability to make the distance disappear quickly from the arc to the lane with quick steps through small opportunities. He also showed a great ability to finish with his left. His high-enerygy is a plus, though it needs to be adjusted or he'll get his teammates hurt during practice. He's extremely unselfish and will do whatever it takes to win, both rare characteristics in the NBA. He'll get his 10 minutes per game this year from Nate, but it will be crazy watching him out there. Posted on Catch Rudy, Spain on TV on August 11, 2008, 11:44AM Batum is the foreigner from this year's group of Blazers that will develop into a legitimate NBA player. Bayless was the 2nd best point guard behind Rose available in the NBA draft and the Sonics were absolute idiots for passing him up in order to take Westbrook. Indiana was even more stupid for trading him to us.
We didn't draft Rudy and Nic in the same summer. We drafted Rudy in 2007. Well, actually Phoenix drafted Rudy in 2007 and then we traded for him. Nic was drafted in 2008. Rudy played a year in Spain so they were both rookies last season.
Those were Kevin Pritchard's statements. And I'll take his words over half of the yahoos that post on this forum.
yup...GMs are always right
That was a stupid move. All of this BS that "nobody knew" was just people who didn't know themselves. I was in the Bay Area at work that day, and when I got home, my roommate, a Lakers fan, started rolling on the floor in laughter because the Blazers picked Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan. I thought he was joking, but I knew he wasn't. I was so pissed. I got on the phone and called KEX studios immediately. It was about 6:00. I asked, "How could the Blazers be so stupid as to not draft a perennial All-Star (projected 10-year All-Star in my mind, as that's what I call perennial) and instead take someone with major injury issues?" KEX's stupid answer of course, was: "They needed a Center." Scott Lynn was the head of KEX Sports at the time. Thank you Bucky Buckwalter.
They aren't always as smart as I am. Very few of them, in fact. Most of them are pretty stupid. Kevin Pritchard is the exception to the rule. Pritchard is phenomenal. Take the collective intelligence of everyone in this forum and they still fall short of Pritchard. I fall short of Pritchard, and that's saying a lot. I'm still waiting to find someone in Portland who knows as much about basketball as I do from a fan's standpoint.
^gee....why didnt the listen to you oh I of course totally believe your entire lil story since its in print
It is what it is. Portland fans are pretty stupid when it comes to basketball knowledge. Kind of like people who live around Los Angeles. The average "joe" from 50 miles within the New York City limits knows more than anyone in Portland or Los Angeles. What more proof do you need than the fact that Portland kicked out baseball so they could have the gay-sport Soccer? Los Angeles doesn't even have an NFL Football team. Both cities are gay.
der dee der, im smarter than all of you, this is fun, whoops i fucking failed this thread, now ill get all defensive, im really smart though... this is an exciting new development and ought to bring us all loads of enjoyment, thank you.
I think it sucks that they let kids post in basketball forums during school hours. You'd think they'd be learning where to stick their penis after they are married, or diving behind lockers when a breeze comes through the locker room so none of their homophobic friends think they are gay. You have no fucking clue what anyone's level of intelligence is in this forum. You have no clue if some of the people work in sports, played sports in college, or if KP himself posts in here. KP has made mistakes, and if you think otherwise, you are fooling yourself.
